+1. Best of luck and good healing. I know that surgery has become tougher for me as I've aged.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Boss!
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

I forgot, this is why I came here in the first place. I guess it's the right thread.
This was at the bottom of an email I got from a book dealer today and am a little lost:
"Please note that we no longer list our inventory on the Abebooks website. For now, some -- but not all -- of our inventory can be found on the Biblio and ABAA websites, where “real” antiquarian and out-of-print books are offered for sale, and there are no seemingly endless product listings of the resellers and the POD people. And, to find all our web-listed books, you must visit our website."
What or who are the POD people? And I buy stuff from ABE all the time and have only once had a problem, and the seller took care of it promptly.

POD is print on demand. Lot of POD sellers on ABE. They are labeled as such so I don’t see the problem.

    Does anyone collect Philip Pullman?

Barnes and Noble have a preorder for their latest version of book of dust with added illustrations.

They have signed versions at $23. Not your independant publisher standard but good value for a signed.

I actually had a problem last night, purchasing a book through AbeBooks. Even though I selected PayPal, I was ever asked to login. The transaction completed, even though the seller wasn’t paid. Once we both realized that, the sale was cancelled, and I was able to repurchase with a credit card.

Thanks, Brian. I called customer service and they'll call me back in oh, 2 to 3 hours. I'll be at work at the time so looks like I'll just try again later.

I don’t know if this has been shared, but I found it an interesting discussion of those who study King. Some familiar names, too.
