so after the charge on your card how long until you receive a shipping notification?
I got a text 30 minutes ago from my bank saying that there was a purchase from waterstones. it was just an oversees change alert that I have set up from when I was in Jamaica but not a fraud alert. joys of using a credit card is it never shows up on the card until the next day or so and my tracking page has not updated so I have no idea if it went through or they just tried and failed.
If you are really worried, you can call them (they are 5 hours ahead of Eastern time, so hurry). Have your order # handy.
The number I used was:
011 44 808 118 8787
Toll charges will apply.
In shipping email there was a track parcel button and the tracking number was somewhere up in the email. I just clicked the link and plugged in the tracking info. Mine listed as now on its way to San Fran (of course I head to Boston Wednesday night and will be out of town until late Monday - but possibly it will be here when I get home) - will see how it arrives and will let you all know.
Wanted:

Drawing of The Three s/l #344

I also got a "problem with your order" email from Waterstones. Called bank and they reactivated the card for overseas transactions. Called Waterstones on +44 20 8045 1001 with my order number and card details and they retried the transaction and were successful. Waterstones were very helpful and polite about it. All this was resolved in about ten minutes total.
No shipping notice as yet, but this all just happened a few minutes ago.
Mine ended up going through and just got shipping notification.
I got the same thing and called not too long ago. Very helpful, friendly, and sounds like they are more than willing to work through the problem. Alice, the lady I spoke to, said to just keep them in the loop with issues so the order doesn't get cancelled. AndSpoiler:

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

How bloody stupid. They know the value of their product because they just charged everybody £250 for it, and then... they send it in that shit...
That, and I talked to them three separate times in the past few days, begging them to package appropriately for an international shipment. They assured me they would. Guess I'll have to wait and see.
