Hanny73 is the seller with the outrageous asking price AND is a member or visitor here. Anyone know who it is?

I'd buy it for 3 easy installments of $19.95. But wait............!!
Seriously, why doesn't everyone get their panties in a bunch about the asking price of an item of this nature? 1st world problems I guess. A non-personalize copy would be worth more to me personally.

Interestingly, the "author" at SDCC was an actress : "Charlie the Choo-Choo: Comic-Con fans seek Stephen King storybook that isn't real"
"The 19-page storybook given out Friday doesn’t have a barcode and may never be put up for sale (except on eBay). It was actually written by King but features new illustrations in its tale of a steam engine who is angry and heartbroken about having been abandoned but resolves to get itself back on track – no matter what. [...] “Beryl Evans” really was an actress – real name, Allison Davies of Los Angeles – but she’s not in the film. (Maybe someday.) She is a devoted fan of King’s, however, particularly his 2000 memoir On Writing."

love the last picture.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Entertainment Weekly posted the entire book. Link in the SK Collecting Questions thread.

I would have been willing to go to $150 but I wouldn't pay much more than that.

I'm shocked, but you never know how these things will go.
With only 150 given out, and probably a >95% retention rate, there are maybe 10 that will be put up for sale. There certainly are more than 10 people that want one. There are already 9 different people bidding on this one.
I predict $799-$849
That is a good prediction RF. I will step out and say I want one and think $500 is probably floor.
I would like to have it but not worth it to me. Anyone here willing to go over $500?

I honestly don't get the fuss over this so please, guys, feel free to correct the slow kid here but: 1. It wasn't written by King but adapted from The Wastelands, correct? 2. A hired actress scribbled "the author's" name in the book along with whomever's was standing there to get it signed.
Don't get me wrong; it would be cool to own but I'd like to hear some of our super King collectors (Bob) thoughts on this. Someone is about to get paid regardless so good for them. I'm going to see RF's bid and raise it that it goes for a cool grand.

It's up to $560 already. Amazing.

You are attempting to be rational. That was your first mistake. Collectors aren't rational.
So I'll attempt a rational explanation.
This is a promotional item for the movie. There is a limitation for the SDCC version of 150. It is of interest to various groups beyond book collectors. This is the first one up for auction on ebay. Some people have to have one; some people have more money than sense.

Posted this on the King Wanted thread but I think this one gets more traffic. If anyone has one for sale or knows where I can find one, I'm looking for a Mist Ultimate Edition DVD. Its the one with the pop up tentacle monster on the inside. Thanks.
Charlie the Choo Choo now at $999!
I'd actually really like this item as it's such a central part of the DT world. Regardless of whether it has King's name on it. it's 'official' and canon. I'd also go about $150-200 but over a THOUSAND bucks??? I don't think so.
Crazy price!

If you did have Ned's illustrations, you could let it print yourself multiple times for $999.
