Well, I'm about 50 pages into Catch 22, and I must say, I hope it gets better. This is the most disconnected, jumbled, plotless mess I have read in a long time so far. Most of the passages read like a bad version of "Who's on first". That sucks too, because I had high hopes for this book.

    oops....

I can only hope, too, that it does get better for you... now that I try to remember my first read (about 25 years ago) I think that I wasn't very impressed by the first 80 or so pages either... it's the Clevinger's trial that was the turning point for me.

After that, everything falls into place, and the kaleidoscopic style of writing becomes fully justified... and more. I swear it isn't plotless or disconnected; you will see.

"kaleidoscopic style of writing" sums it up nicely Jean. I could not have said it better. I will see it through, (I rarely give up on a book) but it has been a chore thus far.

    Is that the next book?
It'll take a lot more than words and guns,
A whole lot more than riches and muscle.
