By my count dude, your list of top ten movies includes 17 films. Unless your counting the entire Godfather trilogy in which case the film count is 19 of your top ten movies. That's a spooky number dude, especially with this crowd.

    Not judging, just saying.

As we have a thread for 25 favorite movies of ours. So I will not only list my top 10 movies here.
If I were lost on a deserted island, I'd want to watch movies encouraging, or reminding me special memories, or keeping my imagination alive. So here it is:
    • The Fountain
    • Mirror Mask
    • It's A Wonderful Life
    • Pan's Labyrinth
    • Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring
    • eXistenZ
    • Desperado
    • Diving Bell and the Butterfly
    • Pi
    • Howl's Moving Castle

eXistenZ... honestly? That almost makes it into my top ten worst movies. Guess its a matter of taste.

Really? That kind of difference between ideas, always amazes me. There is a Turkish saying: ''Colors and tastes can not be discussed.''
I, honestly, see it as a movie asking the same important questions with The Matrix Trilogy, but doing it way too much better than Matrix does.

I could replace it with Return to Blue Lagoon. But I didn't think it was as good as the first one...

Y'know, I'm not sure that I'd want to bring my favorite movies to this place. By the end of the first year on this island I'd hate them. If I were going to be stranded some place I'd probably just bring porn. Say what you will about the acting, script, score, what have you...those movies never get old.

Edit: Y'know...on second thought...I probably would want to bring some real movies. Porn is only good for like 15 or 20 minutes at a time...tops.

Ok...normally I don't take issue with someone's choice of movies but Barry Lyndon? Are you shitting me? Before Heaven's Gate came along this might very well have been the most boring movie in filmdom. I mean...are you trying to make your time on the island pass even more slowly? I'd get more out of watching the tide come in and out.

But then again...I do like David Lynch's Dune so I'm probably not one to talk...

perhaps we need to look at it this way...

the worse the movies are on the island, the greater the motivation to find a way off the island.

so bring on forest gump and i will have us back to civilization in no time.

I will be using it as a floatation device, just don't make me watch it again!

Actually, add in Castaway there and I'm half way to a pretty decent raft!

In all honesty, if I were on an island all alone, I think that I'd best keep myself entertained with these --

    Harvey
    The Music Man
    The Last Unicorn
    The Prince of Egypt
    Godspell
    Time Bandits
    Hook
    A Christmas Story
    The Princess Bride
    Raising Arizona
(Go ahead, guys: flame away. I can be a total sap, I know.)

BUT, if more castaways were there, I'd feel responsible enough to want to have a different ten. Perhaps --

    Duck Soup (Leo McCarey, 1933)
    Casablanca (Michael Curtiz, 1942)
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (Frank Capra, 1939)
The Red Badge of Courage (John Huston, 1951)
    Mister Roberts (John Ford, 1955)
To Kill a Mockingbird (Robert Mulligan, 1962)
The Miracle Worker (Arthur Penn, 1962)
The NeverEnding Story (Wolfgang Petersen, 1984)
    Roxanne (Fred Schepisi, 1987)
    Squanto: A Warrior's Tale (Xavier Koller, 1994)
