Finding a Pet Sematary DJ that is Fine is almost as hard as finding a Salem's Lot 1st trade DJ or an Eyes of the Dragon 1st DJ in Fine condition....Virtually all (but not every!) copy I've seen has some wear and most copies are average at best....I waited a long long time to find nice DJs...,

Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.

I have 2. One I would consider Fine (on the right in the pictures below) and the other Nr Fine (on the left). The NF has only a small amount of shelf wear to the top of the spine.

I'd be interested in values of a fine copy.

How did you find the perfect copy? Trial and error? Or did you know it was perfect before you bought it? I’ve been buying copies on eBay here and there, but no luck on perfection. Got one or two near fine, though. In terms of value, I’d give you 200 US for the perfect one

I got mine at the bookstore when it came out. I wish I'd bought ten of them.

It was bought as fine. I was told it had lived it's entire life in a closed drawer and never really seen the light of day since it's original purchase. I can well believe that as it's pristine. Also it's not for sale! I was just interested in current market value. The other copy I would consider offers on though.

Are you still looking for this, Brian? I saw one in a local used bookstore, and I *think* it's a 1st impression. The condition is not fine though. VG, at best.

I can go there are take a few photos if you're interested.

    ETA: PM'ed you.

Easy yes. Cheap no. A Fine dj for Misery (which usually comes with a fine book as the dj is the first to show wear) is hard to find for less than $50. There are tons of ebay ads, but inevitably when the book arrives, there are more flaws than expected.

Ask Kris (webstar1000) about such endeavors. He has probably purchased 20+ trade editions of IT that looked great in the ad, but ended up having flaws that made them far less "Fine" than the auction worded and pictured.

I'm sure you will find what you are looking for; I suggest patience if you want a value.

RF is soooo right. I think my last count was 55 or 56. not even joking.... I’ll have to check. Ironically I made a pretty fine copy. I have one by putting together a fine jacket an another that the book was fine. I would say it’s the closest to new I have seen. I have been lucky to sell all the other books I find.... but still would like to get a even better copy.... a true 10/10. People... even members here rate books to high, even me. I recently paid TOP dollar for a “perfect” copy... and it wasn’t. You have your work cut out for you. Your best bet is here though... not EBay. Good luck my friend.

When I first started collecting I really didn't know what fine or very fine meant, so after looking over my collection, I notice flaws like you guys are mentioning. Especially with my Misery book. The book is perfect, but the jacket I would say is near fine with some ripples in it. So I figured I would look into it. I don't have a problem paying a fair price for one, but yes, it is hard to find one, or even any book that is older, in very fine condition. Perhaps I should start with Four Past Midnight first lol. But thank you guys for the heads up. And yes, I have dealt with the whole ebay thing too with it not being what it is supposed to be as listed.

This is so true it's painful. And not just with dustjackets, but with page block smudges and bumped corners.

These books are now 25-30 years old. It's pretty unlikely that any given "Fine" listing on ebay is really a Fine copy. Caveat Emptor.

I am looking for signed first editions of The Regulators and Desperation. Ideally dated around the publication date. Must be in fine condition. Thanks! Paul
