I don't know what the heck is the big deal here but jfc this place is getting touchier and touchier each day. So what if I said something? Did i hurt your feelings? Clearly I am not hurting your trade if someone really wants to trade you.

So what's next? Collecting questions? Is someone going to be offended if someone else doesn't agree with a valuation of something? Come on!

I mean if I am out of line here feel free to "punish me" but i think this is getting ridiculous.

There is often a fine line.
Simply saying "I seek King item "****** ****" shouldn't be trouble.
One a specific trade is publicly mentioned, then members will aboslutely be entitled to opinions as to which side would be the benefactor of the trade, and whether or not the offer is simply ridiculous.
General etiquette (and when I violate such politeness, please PM me and say so), is to not publicly "poop(ed) on someone's offer of a trade". It is however acceptable to privately laugh, and to also note and remember the oddness of the public offer. Numerous odd posts can in the long term harm a person's credibility.

Looking for something interesting to trade for my proof copies of Doctor Sleep and Mr. Mercedes. I am open to suggestions

To those who replied: the Dr. Sleep proof is the Scribner one with trade edition cover art. Based on what I paid for both proofs, the condition they are in and Betts current listings I estimate their combined value at $700.

So I'm basically looking to trade both for something worth about $600-700, or Dr. Sleep for something worth about $400-500 and Mr. Mercedes for something worth about $200.

To name just a few items: I'm looking for several older US and UK proofs, unsigned copies of The Plant and NLR, a slipcased copy of Six Stories, a copy of Dolan's Cadillac, a Gunslinger 1/1. But I'd also be interested in 1/1 hardcovers of other authors (GRRM Martin and Dan Simmons in particular).

I'm also open to suggestions, offers and willing to work out trade/cash deals. Who's game?

If this is the wrong place to ask I apologize. I have both UK limited books of Insomnia. The cheaper facsimile book has a slipcase, the signed bookplate one does not. Would it be smart to buy another facsimile book and steal the slipcase from it for the more expensive limited book? I know it'll devalue the limited one, but the concern is for the better book. So then I'd have 3 copies, but the other facsimile book will be devalued which I wouldn't care since I already have a complete one already. Thanks.

I love slipcases for my flatsigned sk books! I am going to do what you suggested! Great idea! I gave all the facsimile signed copies too, but cherish my signed copies much more!

I wanted to mention an update on the whole Insomnia limited slipcase dilemma. Like I stated, I have both the leather real signature and the limited and wanted a slipcase for the more expensive leather numbered one. I found the standard slipcase one in the UK. I bought several books from the seller and basically paid....$50.00 for the limited Insomnia with the slipcase. The slipcase like we talked about isn't perfect and falling apart currently as I am looking at it lol. Well, I kept it for the leather one, and sold the basic Insomnia without the slipcase for 66.00!!! I will now quote an old Sicilian saying in English, "With a little patience, the elephant fucked the flea."

Seems to be the trend lately on Ebay to mark an item as shipped because you create the label, but not actual hand it over to the USPS for a few days. What did I pay extra for the expedited shipping for?!?!!?! /rant

Yeah I agree, John. I think I paid around $70 for my set a few years a go.
