I think I bought the one you're thinking of. I had an extra set of Colorado Kid volumes but no slipcase.

Speaking of "slipcases" (and here I'll use the term loosely since it ain't pretty ), does anyone by chance have an extra of the one done for the original 6 Green Mile books?

Did you try to contact Subterranean press about this?
If anyone has one extra should be the publisher..

I meant the original orignal books, Ari - the thin Signet paperbacks. There was a promo at the time that you could get it for around $1.50 US if I remember correctly. I sent in my $ and never got the case, and have been whining about it ever since.

I still have one of those US Green Mile slipcased sets in the original shrinkwrap. I've often wondered what printings the books are, but never wanted to open the shrinkwrap.
John
I think those came out after the original run was done, John. It might be the same slipcase, though. The mail-in one was one of those fold-it-yourself things.

Oh. My mistake then. Sorry!

I just managed to get a copy of the 1973 Cavalier Annual with Battleground in it, and a copy of the September 1977 Cavalier with the second reader's ending to The Cat From Hell. I'm still looking for these issues of Cavalier:
October 1970 - Graveyard Shift
August 1974 - Night Surf
John
Sorry, John - no extras of those - I'm still looking for that 9/77 issue, too!
I've got multiple issues of Gallery 7/79 (w/ Crate booklet) and 12/81 (w/ Jaunt booklet), though. If anyone's interested, shoot me a PM!

We must have crossed postings--I just was able to pick up a copy of the September 1977 Cavalier from the same guy I got the annual from, so I edited my post. Sorry, I have both the ones you've got duplicates of.
The only duplicates I have are the August 1977 Gallery with The Man Who Loved Flowers and the July 1981 Heavy Metal with The Blue Air Compressor.
John
I'd love to own the Cavaliers with the early King fiction, but the prices are ridiculous. So far I aonly own the March '71 with I am the Doorway. I stumbled upon that for less than $10. I do own all the Gallery's with early King fiction and most of the other early magazines with King fiction, except the really rare ones like Ubris, etc. Someday i will snag them for a nickel - i am always on the lookout for them!
Just like someday I am going to snag a First Edition The Gunslinger at a yard sale! It just takes lots of patience! :-)
DT Spoiler - Enter at your own risk!
Spoiler:
I used to have all those magazines from back in the early 1980s, when I used to get 'em from used bookstores. Of course, naif that I was, I ripped the stories out of the magazines and tossed the rest away!

In France this is one of the scarce early stories to have been published in a magazine... And i really like the title of this one, cause IMO the meaning is really well done into this clever title : "attaque à nains armés" (literally, +/- : armed widgets attack). How good is that title? :-)Originally Posted by jhanic
this is also a play on word with an expression : attaque à main armée
I'd be noisy to read that ending...with the second reader's ending to The Cat From Hell.

There actually have been two stories published with the reader's endings for The Cat From Hell. The one in the September 1977 Cavalier is by a guy named Phil Bowie, who, I guess, was the first place winner. A second story by Mark Rains was published in the December 1977 Gent. I also own that one. I haven't yet read Bowie's version, but Rain's version is VERY different than King's, which was published in full in the June 1977 Cavalier. King's first 500 words were published in the March 1977 issue of Cavalier.
