Me, I'm looking for a UTD proof dustjacket/bellyband (yeah I know it's probably too soon to be looking for these...).

I'm also still on the lookout for a reasonably priced US 1st/1st of 'Salem's Lot. I keep on reading that one should be able to get this book in VG condition for about $200 but I haven't seen these cheaper copies... and FWIW, I don't care if it has a 3d state DJ (which I guess is less collectible).

No one has a copy of this book with the third state jacket ??? Someone has to , are these more rare than the 2nd state? Just curious as you rarely see them for sale and no one really speaks of them.

I have both the second and third states. The third, although supposed to be more common, seems harder to find.

I've always thought that the second state was more common than the third. But the second state (being earlier) was always the more desirable hence the higher asking/selling price.

I gave my other stub to Mark Stutzman as he only had an e-ticket and really liked the ones the rest of us had. Sorry Jerome.

Jerome, I have a spare that is currently attached to an eBay auction for the book. If it doesn't sell the first time around, I'll relist it without the stub and playbill and they are yours.

Jerome, are you missing the playbill and the ticket, or just the ticket?

I have none of the above. Just curious.

    Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine...

The only SK related issue that I am missing is the October 1978 issue. I have doubles of just about every other magazine with the "Gunslinger series" of excerpts.

If anyone has a spare October '78 and would be willing to trade for 1 or more of the others, please let me know.

looking for a 1st edition gunslinger, not looking for anything great, doesn't even have to have a jacket as i have an extra jacket. It can be an ex-library copy with stamps etc...
Its for a friend who will greatly appreciate it for his collection, he is a huge King fan but money is something he does not have. As far he says he will never own a first edition Gunslinger......so i thought maybe if i could pick one up cheap enough, throw my old jacket on it I could give him a surprise Christmas gift
I will consider anything, i am sure some of you avid collectors have a ratty copy or 2 laying around !!

My pre-Carrie collection is crying out for more members. They have not had any new friends for a long time now.

How about giving them a Christmas to remember by selling me your original versions of:

Ubris - Spring 1969 - featuring "Night Surf"
Ubris - Fall 1969 - featuring "The Dark Man/Stud City"
The Drum - 27 Oct 1965 - featuring "Codename Mousetrap"
    The Drum - 29 Jan 1966 - featuring "The 43rd Dream"

    Swaps considered.

Sounds like your friend could be like me. A long time ago I decided the DT S/Ls were out of reach and that I'd be happy to have a complete Stephen King library of First Editions. I always said I'd have trouble getting The Gunslinger, Carrie, Salem's Lot, and Night Shift First Editions. But perseverance has paid off and I have Carrie (actually got it signed at the Three Kings) and Night Shift. Now I need the Gunslinger and Salems Lot! One can only hope!

Or in some cases have a teriffic friend! Your firend will be amazed if you pull this off! Probably flabbergasted!

Does anyone have the hc of this version of Pet Sem for sale for a reasonable price?. Whenever I look on ebay auctions it's never ever this one, apart from a load of stock photo images that never turn out to be the book you want.

ps i'm ever so slowly building up my DT collection, just won a DOTT 2nd and Gunslinger 3rd so thats two more ticked off. I'm another one who can't see myself getting a 1st Gunslinger, though that doesn't bother me as I far prefer the cover of the 3rd printing. Maybe I could get a 2nd one day though, how much do they usually fetch?.

I paid about $175 for a mint Gunslinger 2nd but I have no idea if this is cheap, expensive, or average.

Little on the pricier side, but not by much...if it's mint, then it's probably worth the $25-$50 you might have overpaid...emphasis on 'might.'
