I had a fine time (always) at the Whelan's yesterday...in truth only saw Michael maybe 10 minutes as I was there for framing stuff with Audrey. They are both well and for all of you, Michael is STILL not doing remarque requests, choosing to do his own "thing" as far as art goes. I (and he) will let you know if/when he will start doing remarques again.....I will say this in Michael's defense, he is unlike some other artists in doing remarques as Michael chooses to place himself in that environment and atune his mind to the scenes etc. It is not just sitting down and cranking out a sketch of Roland etc. He needs to have his mind in that space and for awhile now, he does not choose to find the time to "live in Mid World). Like my belief that King will (or has already) written the Jerricho Hill story, Michael will one day come back to doing Dark Tower remarques/work, but the time is still not here.
I will show off some of my newly framed art whenever it gets done. Told Audrey I was in no hurry so it may be awhile before I see these pieces again.

Thanks for that fun update, David. Pretty damn cool— you just hanging out at the Whelan’s! I didn’t know that about his creative process. Makes me appreciate his work even more to be honest.

Good for him! My wife is a plein air artist, and her experience is similar - that the work can become flat and lifeless if you're not feeling it.
While I greatly admire the artists who can produce amazing work on spec, I respect the artists who need to follow their own inspiration.
Thanks for the update, David. So cool you got to hang out with the Whelans.
