well I'm definitely not mad at David or you. I'm happy y'all saw such a cool project to completion and hope you realized a nice profit. Just a lesson for me in anticipation. I've spent a lot of money on my King Collection in the past year and am probably going to have to pull the reigns in on my spending in 2015. I guess I was just looking for one more potential crack at some more goodies before this self-imposed restriction begins, LOL.
The price range of these forspecial Super-collectibles ( such as Customized Salem's Lot, Regular S/N LE Salem's Lot, and Coffin Box S/N LE Stand) are kind of out of my reach anyways due to their high costs, but that doesn't cure the Iwantsits!
I feel like Pavlov's Dogs whenever David posts an upcoming sale memo!

maroon and some "psychodelic" papers I posted
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Hey David. Time you sorted out your fatherly duties correctly.
Get your kids to do most of your work for you!
(BTW its 2015)
I second Alan. I wish David's only job was Bett's and he was around more. I am patient though... BECAUSE HE IS WORTH IT. I just read his "blurb" on his website. One thing I was surprised by but not really... was his wisdom on the King collectable market. I was just a 1st edition hard back collector since the mid 90's never really paying attention to the "rare" stuff. I heard of stories (maybe some can confirm) that before the big crash King's stuff was through the roof (S/L's and what not). I met a guy on a Facebook site that said he sold DT 1-7 soon as the last one came out (matching numbers) for $18k US!!!!! WOW.... Even some of the stuff I bought a year ago has gone up a lot. Some not so much... but some.... amazing how much it has gone up in such a short time. I wont sell... BUT nice to know if I had to... I would not lose my initial investment.

I owe all of you an update/explanation!
2014 was a record year in terms of sales at Betts Books, primarily spurred by the huge Australian consignment. Thank you to all of my customers! Betts is almost 5x larger than when I took the business over just 5 years ago. As many of you know, I am but one person running the show here and between Betts business, another full time job and husband/fatherly duties, it keeps me hopping to be sure and it is no wonder I fall behind at times either responding to emails or charging you for your purchases!
2015 is off to a solid start but there are a million things to try to get done. I still need to close out my accounting at Betts for 2014 (hours and hours of work to do) and I need to get it done fast because anyone who has/had college aged kids knows that you have to file the FAFSA form by the end of this month and I have 2 kids that I have to do the forms for. Plus, my "real" job which is midnight to 9am weekdays will be kicking my rear end going forward as I have 4 super busy times a year when companies report their quarterly financial results...one of those hectic periods is now upon me so my nights for the next month and a half will be "intense" to say the least.
I also need desperately to "clean up" the website listings! I have so many SOLD books to delist and quite a bit of new material to post as well....finding the time to get all this done while juggling my other responsibilities is proving to be quite the challenge! Be patient, I'll get there!!
My family is well...upside is that my oldest son (senior at Ithaca College) is home for his last semester as it involved a paid internship at a Big 4 Accounting firm in Stamford CT. However, having him home adds to my fatherly/family duties, but I'm NOT complaining!
Late this month, I will be closed for 4 days while I attend the Stephen King event in Bradenton/Sarasota Florida. Upside here is that almost 20 customers that I know of are attending as well and I will get to meet some of them for the first time! Looking forward to that!!
FINALLY, in terms of new listings coming up, while I have a couple new/expanded consignments to list, I am also seriously thinking of "cleaning my own house." I have purchased for my own collection an absolute ton of stuff over the past five years...some things I have duplicates of, others just do not appeal to me any more. So I think there will be PLENTY of things from my own personal collection going up for sale...no holy grails or one-of-a-kind items mind you, but solid collectibles nevertheless. In addition, in keeping with the KING theme here, I do plan at some point to make a "Big Splash" with Joe Hill collectibles. For those of you who do not know, Joe Hill is Stephen's oldest son and is an outstanding author in his own right and is arguably every bit as collectible as his father. Joe is aleady pretty big and I predict will be as equally sought after as his father....so STAY TUNED!
Quick word on "health" of the Stephen King collectibles market....Collecting (anything really) comes primarily from discretionary income, and after surviving the Great Recession of a few years ago, the economy, housing market, stock market have been on a roll recently. In tandem, the SK collectibles market has really taken off. Prices for most collectibles have been rising over the past couple of years with some items doubling in price as demand is fierce but supply scarce. Demand remains quite good from my perspective.
That is it for now. Thank you again for your loyalty and friendship. I look forward to dealing with you again this year.
Best wishes for 2015,
Your Caretaker, David
You're the "Man" in my book, David!!!!! I can't even begin to tout the generosity and level of patience you have always afforded me!!! Happy New Year!!!

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
New stuff! Nothing I am searching for.
I found something. I thought I'd be gone a day later but David confirmed he put it on hold for me.
David has a ton of b/w art up by Glenn.... $50 a pop. I wonder what Bad Penny paid to have those done... any guess anyone?
