I saw your post about the time of day it will go live. At this point I would think 11:59*PM* will be the time. - Just kidding, but again, we'll need all the time we can get to finish. (Although we hit a major milestone yesterday regarding the flash programming.)
So as long as it goes live *some* time on Monday, I'll be cool. And then, I don't even want to think about DT for at least a month. Its been a solid year of living in what Stephen calls "a constant fantasy world."
Of course I will be checking the feedback and helping lost souls. And I'll be most curious to know if this was all worth it. Not monetarily in term of boosted DT sales; but in appreciation from the fans. Discordia took everything I have as a human being to manifest and I hope that the world appreciates the work as much as we do.
When it goes live and you guys are ready to let the world know what you think. Remember me, and my alter ego Billy Walsh from Entourage.

I'm sure it will be beyond amazing and you may be saying that now, but the Dark Tower fandom and universe is an addiction and I'll be you'll be psyched to hop back on the saddle before long.

First the bad news... due to the outright chaos of fall 2009 on SK.com, its lookin' like we're gonna push it back a week. (12.7.09) Nothing set in stone yet, but we think it will be best for the project to take a few extra days on coding, testing and load balancing.
(We have no idea how many people will access it. It could be a couple hundred, it could be a couple million.)
Here's the good news... As soon as Discordia passes our focus group testing, Marsha said that we can open the project up to DarkTower.com fans first.
So if you want to see Discordia days before the rest of the world, let me know via PM. I ask that you do not share the links that we provide and you must have a decent amount of posts (30) here to get access. (Sorry newbs).
Otherwise, its looks to go public a week late. I'm so sorry for this guys. We are embarrassed and ashamed. We tried so hard to hit that deadline. After so much work, we simply cannot rush it out the door without a solid round of testing. Hey its only a week. Right? (Please, please please, don't loose interest!)
Also, we *did* see a fully functional version this week. I gotta say, its pretty insane. I think it actually came out better than we had expected.

Brian - Well, I'm bummed, but I do understand. Some things can't be helped and personally, I'd rather you all be ready and happy with the results before turning it over to the fans ... ( It would suck if the server crashed on day one!! )
... now, I did happen to get the day off (Matthew!! ) but maybe I can find some way to re-schedule it. I sorta figured I'd be playing around in Discordia all day Monday. Oh well.

One suggestion, if you do decide to go with a MMO PLEASE take a look at how EVE Online has done their game. It is the best developed game out there by far (like a million miles far). While it isn't the same genera it is a great gaming platform (51,000 users on at the same time on 1 server) and they have done an excellent job of developing a player driven economy in a world where classes are obsolete and professions are only limited by your imagination. Not to mention having a game where the player base has only grown over the years not shurnk like 99% of the MMO's do over time. IMO, they have done the MMO right. Just a suggestion.
I can promise that I won't lose interest. Never could. Worry not, we'll be waiting patiently!

Eh, for someone who is a Tower Junkie who had to wait between books since Drawing of the Three came out in stores, waiting an extra week is nothing. Do what you folk need to, to get it right.

I wouldn't say you should worry about pushing the deadline a week, judging by the comments so far, it sounds like it would take more for us to abandon it and there's a lot of excitement for the game. It's also very awesome of you to offer to have fans experience Discordia before it officially goes live.

Hi All, I havent finished reading all the books yet (almost finished The Wastelands so a while to go yet!) but I saw the promo trailer for Discordia on the SK website and wanted to watch it but am worried that it might contain spoliers. Can anyone tell me if they promo trailer does have spoliers in so I know whether I can watch it safely or will have to wait a while yet!?

Discordia (in general) is one big spoiler. Be warned. It will have a large warning on the splash pages.
Don't watch it until you finish the series. For one, you won't understand most of what you see in the trailer anyway, if you're only at Book 3. Second, don't spoil anything for yourself!
