Had to vote for Watchmen. Whilst i have read and enjoyed the Crow, Watchmen just completely amazed me, even with all the hype that surrounds it. The plot, the characters, the multiple sub-plots, the twists, but more importantly, the surprising amount of realism, just compelled me to vote for it!

A tale the changed the lives of many vs. a tale the changed the face of the comic world. Two epic stories. One of heroes and villans. One with no heroes, only pain. Vote for your favorite, vote for the best, or just vote for the one you read, but please VOTE.

I do realize this will be an unpopular opinion, but I have to say it. I honestly think Watchmen is the most overhyped and overrated work that I have ever read. I'm not saying it was a bad story. I don't feel that way. I DO feel like I have been told over and over again how it was the greatest story of all time, it was the end all and be all of superhero tales, it was head and shoulders above everything I have ever read.

You know what? It wasn't. Maybe in the 1980's when it was printed, but not now. It didn't stand up to the hype. If someone had told me that it was a really good story and one that I would enjoy after a reading or two, I would agree. But since the publication of Watchmen, so much else has come out. Many of those titles that I think are better are in the list of titles that started in Round 1.

I hope all of you who have stuck it out this far will stay to see the end, but more than that, I hope you have found a new title that you really want to check out. Many stories that the comic world feels are the greatest are represented here. If you haven't read some of these titles (and even I haven't read them all... YET) pick up one of the GNs from Round 1, take a day off, and treat yourself.

    One more thing...
    VOTE!

I wonder how Sam really feels about Watchmen?

While I enjoy both, I had to go with The Crow. Such a life-changing read for me.

"Are you blind? It's raining blood."

Elodin: "Tombs is for feckless twits who can't chew their own food. My boy's a Re'lar! He has the feck of twenty men!"

Kvothe: “Books are a poor substitute for female companionship, but they are easier to find.”

Simmon: ”It’s just ointment in case you get burned...but if you mix it with piss, it turns into candy.” Sim’s expression was deadpan. “Delicious candy.”
