As this is in the expermental stage, guidelines may be altered or expanded when needed.
The contest will end on or about April 4, 2009.
I am going to try to work up a poll. I will assign a points value awarded from myself, then add a points value from the poll.
For poem entries:
1st Place 1500
2nd Place 1000
3rd Place 500
150 for all other entries.
For critiques:
1st place 1200
2nd place 700
3rd place 250
All other critiques ; 75
I desire good critiques. I may not chose three places without three good ones.
Guidelines for critiques:
Enter as many critiques as you wish. I will pick your best one (in my opinion.) and award it. The first three places will not receive Beam Bucks beyond that of their placing.
1. A critique must have substance. I will not award "nice poem" or the like. Give the author some meat!
2. A critique can be positive or negative. So come into this with thick skin.
3. A critique must be helpful and not hurtful. I may DQ any member engaging in bashing, pomposity or promoting their own works in this contest's thread.
4. All substantive crtiques will be awarded at least 75 Beam Bucks.

Option #3
Write a poem about what you and your pet unicorn (or any other mythical creature) do for fun. Give its name. No need to tell its species, unless you wish. Have fun with it...make up binomial nomenclature for the beast...I don't care.
Option #4
write a poem about a support group for (your choice.) You can write about 1 member of the support groups story or whatever.
Option #5
Screen name
Write a poem inspired by a fellow DT.com member's screen name. Be sure to mention the ncreen name next to your poem's title, parenthetically, or use it in the poem...something.
Be sure we can tell which option you choose. You can disseminate that information any way you chose. You can be creative here, PMs...whatever. It is in you best interest that we can tell.
OK...get ta' ritin'!
