There's a great book about the capture of Adolf Eichmann in Argentina-which I was reading earlier tonight-which has a lot of interesting details about the Mossad's unsuccessful attempts to capture Mengele. Supposedly they received one or two great leads when tracking down Eichmann. There was one where the leader of the cell who was tracking Eichmann actually followed him, but had to abandon his pursuit in order to find a boy who had been kidnapped by a group of fanatical, anti-Zionist Orthdox Jews.
