Oh man...I was hoping to get him in my fantasy draft yesterday, but someone got to him first. He's definitely primed for a break-out year. Hope this is nothing serious.

As soon as I heard he was injured I knew it was for a while. This is the chance for a few players to step up and make a name for themselves. Wade is going to get a ton of ABs, Austin blew his chance with his own injury after Brid got hurt last year, now he has a chance to step up. Walker can also make himself a lot of money if he plays well. I'm not worried, just bummed we don't get to see the whole lineup together even once.

His slider was filthy last year. How do you think he struck out 230 guys last year? I didn't see any difference in the slider. I could see if you said his changeup was much improved.

No, his velocity and break on the slider was markedly less last year. Flash had a graphic and "Before/after" video's during the broadcast. Nasty as it was last year, this one (first game obviously) was nastier. At least, Flash made a case for it being so.

This is such a dumb thing to be arguing over so I'm just going to post this and leave it at that. First, Flaherty is one of the worst analysts the Yankees have. As you can see from this video. Severino's slider was just as nasty last year. Many of them showed the same velocity and break/depth as he showed in his first start this year.

If you're a Yankees fan and you're not worried about Betances, then you're not paying attention. This is something every team is going to try and do now. Betances had this issue holding runners on at the end of last year. I thought they fixed it but I guess not. I honestly think he's going to have to be sent down to work on a slide step.

As for Smoak, at this point in their careers, Smoak is a more dangerous hitter than Donaldson. I'm not sure why the Yankees keep choosing to pitch to him. That series went about what I thought. I just didn't expect the Yankees bullpen to implode. For some reason the Yankees just don't hit Estrada.

Nope. You're one of those people who automatically assumes that if someone who is rich and famous says something, they are automatically right. I don't subscribe to that theory. Just because I'm some worthless loser on a message board, doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. Those guys aren't perfect either. They make mistakes all the time. Michael Kay is an even better example of this.

Yes, flash was a professional baseball player. No, he wasn't a very good one. Yes, he is a professional broadcaster. No, he's not a very good one. It has nothing to do with what you or I do (or did) for a living. There are different levels of expertise in every profession.

The other fact is that I continue to have to prove you wrong on so many different things. It starts to get exhausting. YES puts up a graphic showing Sevy's slider so they can fill up time, so Flash must be right.

I show you a video where he's throwing the same slider, at the same velocity, with the same break and depth, but I'm the asshole because I'm on a message board and he's lucky enough to get a paycheck.

First off, I didn't call you a "loser" or an "asshole" or anything else you claim in your post. I enjoy the Yanks, get a little exuberant and lie to post about it here. I;m simply a fan. Yes, I have some opinions from time to time, but for the most part I just enjoy the game, the broadcasts and generally the results.

So, quite frankly, I don't need to be schooled by you whatever your level of expertise may or may not be. I exhaust you? Sorry, then go somewhere else, start your own thread or something and leave me to my blissful ignorance. I'm really not interested in your opinions/insights in the least, if I inadvertantly gave you that impression I sincerely apologize. Go tout your genius to someone who is interested and cares. That someone is not here. Of course, you're entitled to your opinions but do not feel that I need or value them in any way shape or form.
