Howdy folks! So my 33rd birthday is coming up on Friday (I'm headed to Reno to enjoy some sun, gambling and cheap drinks!)...but I'm asking friends and family to please donate if they can to my 10th annual (and LAST!) HIV/AIDS fundraiser. This year we are hoping to raise at least $20,000 by September 30 for four HIV/AIDS organizations in Oregon that serve children, families and individuals living with, at risk and affected by the disease. In years past we've raised up to $40,000 in one year (I think that year was just a lucky year), but hoping to end my 10 years on a high note this year.

If you're not able to donate just yet, watch for some eBay auctions coming up soon from Shocklines Auctions with 100% of the proceeds benefiting our charities. We have book donations from some of the best authors, editors and publishers in the horror business coming up in the next month. (We're also looking for more donations of collectible books...King...non-King, whatever).

I want to thank those collectors who have contacted me about donating books to the eBay auctions produced by Shocklines Auctions benefiting my annual AIDS fundraiser. Auctions will start in coming months (main local event is Sept. 30). Some of the excellent authors, editors, artists and publishers that have already sent in items include: Allen Koszowski, Ellen Datlow, Borderlands Press, Christopher Golden, Lisa Morton, the Horror Writers Association, and many more. Quite a few limiteds and horror first editions are also being donated by private collectors. Over the past week many offline cash donations have arrived and we're at nearly $7,500 raised so far for our charities this year. Some major news I need to share...... My annual HIV/AIDS fundraiser will be getting a $1,000 donation from my work if that amount is raised online by this coming Friday from individual donations. If you're able to donate $5, $20 or even $100, we could really use the help to make this large donation happen to push us to our $10K goal. My goal is 10K raised as this year is the 10 year anniversary of my own diagnosis and it's my last year putting this event on. Please help get me to that goal if you can.
