Tomorrow will mark the 20 years anniversary of the release of THE GREEN MILE #1 in France, some 10-15 days prior to the rest of the world !

Cool! Thanks for that, I guess she either forgot those two instances or she didn't know about them.

Hey Derek. I know you didn't choose him but your dad is none too bright.

It did find a bidder though. Perhaps the buyer's name is Derek.
I know it goes against everything we discuss on this site.....BUT, I would kill for an inscription from my mother in any book I own. Even if it was a S/L.
Totally understandable. I bet it wouldn't end up on eBay though.

Any of my friends here willing to get me a nice 1st/1st copy of The Fireman (Joe Hill) if I can't find a decent copy in my local bookstore when it comes out? I know I can order one through Amazon but I'd rather have an undamaged copy.

Thanks. Spent all day in bed, but as a home worker still soldiered on.

Due to incessant coughing, was asked to go on mute during a couple of confrerence calls though!

Be careful with the coughing (i.e., get something for it if it persists) - I broke a rib a couple of weeks ago because of Trips-related coughing! Get well soon!

So my car's transmission is failing and it's last days are imminent.

It has 180,000 miles and I've driven it for 16 years so I have no regrets on that score - it got great gas mileage, was comfortable and drove smooth. I've realized the last time I had a car payment was 11 years ago, and it's been my car for fully half my driving life. I feel like part of me has gone away.

I feel for you. My car is 18 years old and has 196,000 miles on it.
It needs several thousand dollars of repairs and tires.

I bought a new car a couple of weeks ago. Someone is supposed to buy the old one today. It's going to be weird as I have a bit of sentimentality for the old car, and the potential buyer is a neighbor.

Funny how we were just talking about this yesterday. Had my car about 14 years. 142,000 miles. We been through a lot together and can't imagine ever parting with it. But repairs have started to get costly.

Overall... due to the shear number of years... I'd bet the Fiero has "gotten" more...

However, currently, the Fiero is 'tang handicapped by it's owner.

That's what I was hoping for - or at least 200K miles - but rebuilding a transmisson is a nonstarter.

I'll probably get a Corrolla - good car, dependable, and they're affordable.
