I know it goes against everything we discuss on this site.....BUT, I would kill for an inscription from my mother in any book I own. Even if it was a S/L.

As those are "minor" mentions, I wouldnt be surprised if she wasn't aware of them.

I feel for you. My car is 18 years old and has 196,000 miles on it.
It needs several thousand dollars of repairs and tires.

I bought a new car a couple of weeks ago. Someone is supposed to buy the old one today. It's going to be weird as I have a bit of sentimentality for the old car, and the potential buyer is a neighbor.

I've had my Fiero since May of 1987 going on 30 years.

That's what I was hoping for - or at least 200K miles - but rebuilding a transmisson is a nonstarter.

I'll probably get a Corrolla - good car, dependable, and they're affordable.
