I wanted to buy a Brodart photo storage box because the larger size seemed just about right to hold my F&SF magazines. Then they emailed me and told me it would cost $27 to ship one box, so I guess I'll find another storage method.

am new to this forum... but collecting odds and ends for a couple of years. Not those pricey s/l megabucks editions, but just to read all kinds of stuff I wouldn't normally have had access so. For me collecting is not so much about owning the pieces (well, mostly) than actually deriving the joy out of the contents... reading that obscure essay on this and that, finding that copy of you-name-it after eight years... that's the immaterial part of the game. Once you lose that joy in collecting, it's perhaps better to drop out, I guess...

First, last december, our company project won one paid office for two years since we were chosen as one of the most promising ventures of the contest.
And now we applied for a videogame project, made a proposal for a tender and today I received the call saying we were the chosen onesThis means that, finally after more than 10 months, I'll have a fixed salary again, and the whole team as well. I probably won't be able to spend much, but it's really nice to be able not to spend my savings anymore

The government of Argentina launched a program for students and teachers of the public schools, giving each a netbook for education purposes. Since the educational diagram for several subjects is tied with this program, the government also wants to include a videogame inside that isn't directly focused to teach, but just for joy. BUT, on the inside, the videogame takes place inside an art museum and its history and progress is related to two art branches: One is concrete art and the other is informality (please apologize, because I don't know how to put both branches' names in English. They are "Informalismo" and "Arte Concreto"). Each branch is located in specific rooms, and has specific enemies and puzzles inside. SO, even when the game is just a videogame, players will be able to identify and learn about these two art branches.
The best of this is that, when I was working on the proposal, I started to like the project A LOT, and I definitively wanted to be chosen to do it. So, when I had to present the pitch elevator in front of the judges, even when I really don't like to "sell", the performance, according to my associates, was perfect and the enthusiasm I had was very contagious.
The rest is easy...you can imagine my face when I got the call yesterday

Hey, all americans... how many holidays do you get per year? I recently spoke with a supplier at work (he works in america) and he was telling me that he recently changed of company, and lost a few days off to be more flexible with his hours... he currently has 12 days per year! Shocking! It's my days off (which are different of the holidays)!
Although i am working a lot those says because of an important website that we are rejunevating, i guess that i cant complain..

My office is closed for 8 holidays a year, plus every one gets 3 "personal holidays" that we can use for what ever we want (for example, my office is open on Columbus Day, but it seems like every other office in town is closed). That is in addition to any paid days I also get (25 per year).
