I have a blackberry for work ( only! those bahstids ) and honestly, I'm glad I got the Curve without the touchscreen. Everyone at work is having issues with the touchscreen - always hitting the wrong letters on the keyboard!

The Eternity has the option to vibrate when you touch something, which I like, since then I know if I've hit a button or not.

Random senseless rant:
I sacrificed my punkuation in the swimming pool and now the god-raisins want to take me out into the desert and turn me into ape jerky for my crimes against grammar and no matter how many times I call him, the guy who played frasier won't answer his telephone and I'm thinking of taking up a new religion so I have fresh morals and taboos to break because someone cut the cable to my feces powered toaster and now theres nothing good to watch burn
if the worlds gonna end then let's get it over with, i got shit to do
Yeah you gotta love the haptic technology lol.
I only have a basic touchscreen LG but it does what I need it to which is calls and texts and it's light.
But i'll let you in on why I got this particular model, apart from it being cheap, it can view Microsoft Word files correctly and search them!!!. Gone are my days of buying the same book two or three times because I can't recall if I have that one or not, now I load a list of every book I own onto my phone and check that first.
Some mobiles have pretty out there these days though!, like that new Sony Ericsson with a 12mp camera!!!.
12mp? Holy cow!
I just discovered the memo feature on my phone and started inputting my grocery lists to it. Never again will I get in the store and say "What the heck did I need now?" and come out with twelve items, not one of which is the one thing I'm out of.

Is that a bit of code from the kid's blog on the Chester's Mill site, RF?
If so, it reminds why I'm not following along that website.
My head just asploded.

Another Tale of Publisher Delays (with a nice ending)
So earlier this year Subterranean Press encountered a major problem with their traycase supplier which resulted in a huge backlog and long delays with their lettered editions. I was affected in that I had on order a lettered edition of On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers - ordered Nov '08, due Apr '09.
April passed with no sign of the lettered. I wasn't too upset because I was regularly kept informed as the search for a new traycase supplier went on. And the book finally arrived a few weeks ago. Lovely production - I was happy.
Yesterday I received an unexpected parcel from Subterranean. In it was a letter apologizing for the delay in publishing the book, and to thank me for my patience they had sent me two very recently published signed limited books and two trade hardcovers, including Stephen King Goes To The Movies.
Kudos to Bill and SubPress.
Now that's how you look after your customers.
That's really nice!

You are exactly right, Clacke. That is customer service!
On a related note, I bought a few books recently from Sub Press through their discounted eBay listings. There were some issues with items not being shipped until I sent a couple email reminders (I wasn't overly concerned about it, but thought maybe something had slipped through the cracks - which it had). When the books arrived, Sub Press had thrown in a few freebies for my trouble.
Bill sets a fine example of a publisher who understands the importance of customer service.

my gal and i are flying out tomorrow around noon - headed for London and then Rome for 10 days... yeeehaaa! first time either of us has been oveseas.
man... i am soooooo ready for time off, i've been averaging 65+ "intense" hours a week for the past 3 months and i'm ready to let my brain rest for a few days.
good thing is. at least i've made over 35 grand in OT this year so far - paid for my new car, this trip, plus a stash for rainy days.... but i'm not sure how many brain cells have survived the past few months.

Congrats Boome. Sounds like 2 great destinations, enjoy the trip.
I just finished a run of almost 2 months worth of 60-70 hour weeks and don't have a single extra penny to show for it. Salary rules!
