Mordred! I never like him.

Jake's little friend that he met in the Callas, he ticked me off, he ruined Jake for me, he ruined Jake as a Gunslinger, his relationship with Roland, I didn't even care that the kid died... I don't even remember his name, that is how much i didn't like him.

see i quite liked mordred, i felt he was misunderstood and felt really sorry for him, i agree with the not liking susan - but i think its more to do with the fact i did not want to go back in time, but wanted to stay with the current tet.
the one i really did not like was henry - wanted to punch him sometimes
I thought Mordred was soo pointless.
Spoiler:
I like Mordred as well *points to nick*
the only thing about his story I didn't like wasSpoiler:
Two characters I didn't like: Susan (not credible) and TCK, the latter mostly becauseSpoiler:
also, when reading the books I didn't like Gasher, but when listening to it in audio-book I LOVED him. King did that particular voice exceptionally well

some are born to the endless night.
I thoughtSpoiler:
I've never listened to the audio versions of these books, but I could imagine liking the voice of Gasher. He is definitely one of the more memorable characters in a creepy, old world, pederast warped even more by a super-nuclear holocaust/civil war sort of way. Not so much a willing accomplice of The Crimson King, as someone whose nature is simply evil.
Some of the creatures/characters who are not involved in the battle between the white and the Crimson King, but are independent actors, are more interesting, IMO, than ones who have clearly defined roles.
Odd Lane is one of my favorite chapters in the final part of The Dark Tower. I really wish King would write some prequels to TDT-don't mistake me, I don't want to read any more rewrites of the original books, or elaborations on what happened-just so we could explore some of the more interesting characters like Joe Collins, Sayre, the ringleaders of Devar-Toi, and what they did before they became involved in this saga.
Dude, you know you were slapping your knees until he revealed himself for what he was.
Yeah, there are so many parts of that book that you could expand into a stand-alone novel. Or at the very least, a few spectacular short stories or novellas. For example, Devar-Toi. The whole concept of a parallel world where people are enslaved, not so much by the things keeping them their by force, but by their own emotional and mental incapacities.
This is probably a completely different thread, but I that raises another interesting question. Namely, if you had the opportunity to be a breaker, would you accept it?
Exactly...
It would be a great thread...
And this is a very hard question...
I don't see being a breaker as an opportunity. To me, it's just like being a slave, a numb. So I wouldn't accept it.
I remember the breakers feeling satisfied using their powers. A talent wants/likes to show/express itself says King.
But the reason you use your abilities are much more important than using them.
I'd certainly prefer it to another novel, or Gan forbid, another revised version of an existing novel.
