I think The Gunslinger was in a bag of novels my aunt gave me when I was around 14 or so.

How did you discover the Dark Tower?
I didn't as much as discover The Dark Tower as I'd already read quite a lot of Stephen King books and I wanted to read the series sometime. I tried twice to read The Gunslinger, the first time I didn't get very far. The second time I finished it and continued with the second one which I personally found much more enjoyable. And then it went on from there.
Who is your favorite character?
Callahan, even if he's only in there for a while. I've liked him ever since since I read Salem's Lot years ago, so that was also incentive to read the series. I also do like Cuthbert.
What is your favorite book?
That'll likely be the second one.
How old are you?

Denmark. That one odd country where people speak danish and are danes. I've stopped counting the times I've been called a "Denmarkian", I really have ^^;

I felt this should be answered because it says something about me and it might amuse some people just a tiny bit. I've known this was here and I've had it in my bookmarks, but I haven't checked in very often as a guest. Just today I looked a bit more around the forum and saw the mention of a possible con in London. Combine that with being a Dark Tower fan in general and the fact there's a requirement for being able to buy the bracelets... I have a problem with resisting shiny stuff, it's all very sad

I was browsing books in an antique store, in search of more S.K. books when I stumbled upon the DT series (the first three) and was hooked. Then I had to wait (for an eternity it seemed, and felt) when King finally released the "Wizard and Glass" and so on. So I have always been a King fan. Now more so.

Roland of course! There's nothing to debate.

Hmm.. They're all good! But the first three have a special place in my heart, so I'll say that's these ones..

How did you discover the Dark Tower?
I feel madly in love with The Stand. Loved Flagg & the story. My older brother bent my ear for months about the dark tower books until I eventually bought The Gunslinger. The rest is history.

Eddie. Loved him from the moment I saw him in my minds eye.

Toughie but I would have to say Wolves Of The Calla just over Wizard And Glass.

My name is Raymundo Flores
I live in Hayward, California
I discovered the dt series by going to the library and checking out stephen King books. I thought that Stephen King only wrote about stupid investingative books that are a lot like CSI, but when I saw the gunslinger, I was immediately interested because I used to always think that King's books were corny.
I am 15 turning 16 on June 9th 2009
My favorite dt book, so far, is the wastelands, because I just love the idea of a crazy train. I always think of Ozzie Osborne's song Crazy Train when I read that part in the wastelands.
My favorite Character is Roland of Gilead, because it's all of his experiences. He's experienced every type of person. Junkies, Whores, western people, you name it, he's experienced it.
