My thinking is that like others, you got "wood" on the first post. After that, you were downgraded by, Santa to "Coal". FWIW, I like the way you think, but I want, Santa to come by my house for cookies!!! LOL

YES
Spoiler:
Those of you with the Billy/Oxford Cases from IKEA, how are they holding up now over time? Any bow in in the shelves and does the siding come off too easily? About to move and think it's time to throw away my Walmart shelves for some that look a little better.
I have a lot of bookcases in my office, but I needed a new one in my family room. I was near an IKEA a few weeks ago (closest one is about 45 miles away). I bought a Billy bookcase with glass doors for $190. Can't beat the price. Went together nicely and looks good. The shelves do feel a little thin, and if you plan to put a set of encyclopedias on the shelf, it may start to bow over time. But I think if it is filled with just regular books, it looks like it will hold up fine. Extra shelves are like $10, so you could buy some extra just in case.
I bought my Billy/Oxberg 2 months ago.
It has glass door and additional shelf on top with small doors. The standard bookcase has 6 shelfs (with the bottom) in equal configuration will easily fit all trade hardcovers and oversized editions in traycases. The additional top shelf is great for higher books - like Secretary of Dreams, Screamplays or The Stephen King Illustrated Companion.

I agree with all of the above. I have one IKEA bookcase that I've had for 9 years. The others I have bought here and there over the last 7 (when my collecting REALLY picked up). No problems at all. And while put together furniture is always annoying, with the exception of my glass display case from IKEA, they aren't too hard to put together. For the price, they really can't be beat.
I like buying solid wood bookcases. Sanding them, them refinishing them. I bought 3 on craigslist, but it is hard to find quality solid wood ones cheap or beat up to fix. One I bought was 30. An oak one was 125. A solid wood one was 90. Just hard to find. I hope this picture pops up.
Though I love brunettes like real curvy women like Betty Page. I always loved Ann Margaret more .

Is there an easier way to post pictures on here instead of using an url webpage posting? I posted that bookcase picture and a friend comment on it on facebook. I really don't want everyone out there on social media to know what is lurking in my house. If not, I'll eventually take it down in a couple of weeks. If I remember as I don't frequent facebook much. So thanks in advance for any input on the posting pictures question. If I figure it out sooner, I'll edit this message.

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

Curious if I semi figured it out. Thank you! I will figure it out properly when I have the time.

I've started using flicker since photofucket was censoring every photo. you can choose which photos to make private, or which friends to share with, whether to make it searchable or not. I'm just making all my photos private then sharing the link here or with whom I want to see them. - and it's free.
nice case RF... though you need about a hundred of them for to house your collection

Ordered this last night. The cabinet dimensions are 40 inches (w) x 13.75 inches (d) x 13 inches (h). Excited for some stuff to come out of storage and have a proper home, some of my oversize books to shelves that fit them, and for all my books to finally be behind glass! I like the height and the space of the case wolfehr, but I have had issues with barrister type cases where the doors swing up and slide into the top. Where the books must be shorter so the swinging upward doors don't hit the books. Any idea if you will have this problem?
Like I said before, I enjoy refinishing good finds for older cases, but some people are asking an arm and a leg for them. I see listings on craigslist that have been there for over a year. You would figure the seller would figure it out eventually that what they have selling....ain't selling! I am curious if you will tell me, us, them, him, her, she, it, and everyone else......what did you pay for your new case?

Very nice, I like how there is a separate door for every shelf.
I think it's a nice looking bookcase... allasorte, it looks like it's from Crate & Barrel. You can see the price here.
