I'm nonviolent with those who are nonviolent with me. But when you drop that violence on me, then you've made me go INSANE, and I'm not responsible for what I do

hi all, i'm Carlie, just started using the site but i'm a huge SK nerd =]
sounds good! It's about damn time, i don't have any friends who are Dark Tower or Stephen King fans
Well, that's about to change.
Welcome to the fold.

Kvothe: “Books are a poor substitute for female companionship, but they are easier to find.”
Simmon: ”It’s just ointment in case you get burned...but if you mix it with piss, it turns into candy.” Sim’s expression was deadpan. “Delicious candy.”
hooray! My whole family thinks i'm crazy over these books, haha
Yeah i'm really optimistic about this, I have no life outside of work so theres a lot of downtime...
sweet! So how did you come across the Dark Tower?
I was hooked on Dean R. Koontz around the age of 12 and one day I didn't find any new books in the bookstore by him. I was very very disappointed and then I noticed the Dark Tower one one of the shelves. I didn't want to meet/read a new author but I liked the title so much I grabbed it and put it into my basket. Since then I have been a true DT junkie. (Dean R. Koontz is just the past of course.)
And you?
Unfortunately I must go to work. Hope to catch you later.
Roland would have understood.
I started reading Stephen King books when I was young, found the Dark Tower series in highschool and didn't look back, haha.
Have fun at work
Ka is a wheel...
I'm new here and in exactly the same boat! I'm an English lit. teacher, and my friends & colleagues look at me like I'm insane when I have my head buried in an SK novelTell me about it. The people around me think SK is a cheap horror writer.
That is really too bad, they are missing out big time.
I also think it shows a lack of character to dismiss something out of hand like that.

Absolutely! my colleagues should really know better, how many of today's "classics" were dismissed out of hand in their time? plenty!
Hello Crowmum, and towerlover, it's been nearly what?
a decade...and some of us are still not tapped out when
it comes to TDT. I believe that we'll be junkies for life.
Welcome to the family!
The answer is within
