One could see them that way, I suppose. But I would say the real antagonist of Dreamcatcher was Mr. Gray. Or maybe the slightly psychotic colonel, or whatever that fucker was.
Heng Dai
What about Gerald from Gerald's game?

Well, since no one has come out and said it, I'll nominate Mr. Gray.
"People, especially children, aren't measured by their IQ. What's important about them is whether they're good or bad, and these children are bad." ~ Alan Bernard
"You needn't die happy when your day comes, but you must die satisfied, for you have lived your life from beginning to end and ka is always served." ~ Roland Deschain
Atropos from Insomnia
Perse from Duma Key
and my all time favorite
although I don't know if he counts as he was created by SK and Peter Straub....
Charles (Chummy) Burnside from BlackHouse
“A Human Thought is an actual EXISTENCE, and a Force and Power, capable of acting upon and controlling matter as well as mind.”
"The ability to speak does not make you intelligent."
"God always punishes us for what we can't imagine."
SK
Nice, I was going to nominate Burny!
I second Burny, Atropos and Perse
I will third Charles Burnside. I definitely think he should count. It may have been a collaboration with Straub, but Black House is still very much a King work.
second Mr. Gray
I'll third Perse.
A true firewasp ninja would never wear such a ridiculous sweater.
There's logic in nonsense.
Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.
I nominate Andre Linoge from Storm of the Century!
Was also thinking about Wild Bill Wharton in The Green Mile and Christine!!!!!
DT Spoiler - Enter at your own risk!
Spoiler:
I third Mr Gray. In which category does Patrick Hockstetter from IT belong ? Creepiest character ever ?
It's a movie/tv thing though isn't it, not a published work?
I believe he wrote it for the screen, but they did release a screenplay of it.
Pablo do you know if this story is being counted in the overall ranking?
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Oh cool! I thought it was just a movie...one more on the "to read" list then
Yes, Storm of the Century is in Bracket 9, so you'll be able to vote for it when those books go up for voting.
I nominate George Stark
YOU MUST CHILL. I HAVE HIDDEN YOUR KEYS.
i'll second george stark
(but if he comes after me i swear to god i'm haunting you forever ves!)
Third Stark.
Second Wild Bill Wharton.
wth? no nomination for Norman???
I NOMINATE NORMAN!!! the scariest monster sai king ever created....
Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one and only truth.
