usually you can find a universal remote or at least one that work work with the brand of camera you use. I use a Canon 5D and found a nice remote for about $30. So far it works great.
Really like the idea you had going on.
I've done research from Nikon and I don't think that there are any that support my Nikon L100. There is no sensor in the camera as far as I understand that will react to a remote....usually you can find a universal remote or at least one that work work with the brand of camera you use. I'm learning new photography things as I go along with my hobby, like what to look for in my next camera, which will definitely be a Canon that is compatible with a remote!
