    Brian,
Looking at the picture it's hard to tell what type of material is used for the limited edition.. is it some special type of dyed grey leather covering the boards?
my apologies if its already mentioned elsewhere.
Also you had mentioned earlier that the binder for sleeping beauties closed its door (went out of business), so is it safe to say this was a different binder doing "Gwendy" here in the states.
    Thanks

No worries, I don't think I've posted the specs anywhere yet!

The Limited Edition is bound in a really fun material. It's a blend of leather and some other materials to keep the feel of leather while "saturating" the material with a "thermoreactive finish." Basically, that means we were able to do use a "blind stamp" for the tree, which is a deeper hit of the stamper with no foil in place. The material reacts to the heat of the stamping die to "brand" the tree into the material. You can do this with several types of bindings, but the thermoreactive finish gives a very different look and texture than I've seen in the past. Also, if someone goes to pick-up the book and you don't want them to, you can say, "Woah there! That one's thermoreactive!!"

(But the way, the binding will feel "normal" and there's no special care requirements. Just thought I'd better note that!)

The Lettered Edition is, obviously, a three-piece case. The spine is a black leather from Japan and the front and back covers are a black/gold blended material our binder found through one of his vaguely sinister sounding connections. You can't really see it in the photos, but it looks very cool in a natural light!

Here is a larger photo to show a little more detail:

Oops, I did miss that, sorry! That's definitely something I need to ask Rich and Mindy. I'm not sure where the slipcases stand. I'll ask at the next production meeting!

Yeah, the coin without the case would be kind of naked... but hopefully I'll have a finished case late next month to take some photos of!

Hey Brian, can I make a small request? I like the CD t-shirts that you have been offering them more, but could we possible have a color choice other than black? My t-shirt drawer is beginning to look like that of a teenage goth girl!

    Two things though...

    1) is there a slipcase that will fit it (lettered)?

    2) has anyone figured out who all the signatures are from? These are the ones I think I know:

I recognize Brian j Freeman initials. Top right. And Stuart o nan. Lower middle

I actually wanted to with this shirt, but unfortunately the art didn't really lend itself to being on anything other than black because of the way the detailing was done on the books in the artwork.

Brian, will the signed copy of "This Dark Chest of Wonders" be numbered?
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

That's a great question! The sheets are with the author now and I cannot remember, so I will ask Mindy or Dan since they might still have the designed file on their desktop!

It is not numbered. We rarely number books with limitations this high. I can think of maybe 3 the entire time I've worked at CD.

Jeremy. Not sure who you usually order from but, if you go through Camelot, you don't have to pay til they are ready to ship the book. I saw they had the book on their page this morning.

Send PS an email. They have a standing order with us, so they typically get a handful of all of our books.
