I have been waiting for this cd to come out for years.
At last CHINESE DEMOCRCY by GUNS AND ROSES (I know not the original
line up) is out (or so i'm told) on 11/23/08.
Hope it was worth the wait.

G and R fans have been waiting over a decade for this. I think Best Buy electronics has an exclusive deal on distribution.
"As for gunslingers, Roland," Cuthbert says, "I am here. And we are the last."
When two fit, it makes you think
I got the cute one, my woman
She says, "Lovin's all I bring"
And it's her loving that's a wonderful thing.
Lovin' yes we are, it's such a wonderful thing
When two fit it makes you think
See us both in the black
She lays on me so relaxed.

Best Buy does have the exclusive.
My deal is though, only Axl remains as part of Guns N Roses.
Please post and let me know if its worth the wait.
I'm not rushing out to get it, but probably will pick it up eventually.

I myself am not a fan (I like some of their SONGS, but there are few BANDS that I follow)
Though my brother is. He names my (was his, but he left) dog Axl Rose

I didn't even know Guns N Roses was still around until I heard about this album. So Slash isn't even a member anymore?? That sucks.
"It's his eyes, Roland thought. They were wide and terrible, the eyes of a dragon in human form" - Roland seeing the Crimson King for the first time.
"When the King comes and the Tower falls, sai, all such pretty things as yours will be broken. Then there will be darkness and nothing but the howl of Discordia and the cries of the can toi" - From Song of Susannah
Nope.
No one left in the group from the original guys except Axl.
I recall something going on with Slash trying to limit the use of the "GnR" name, but obviously, Axl won that round since he's got the name.

This album was made years ago and should feature the original members.

I thought it was just Axl.
The band broke up long before he ( Axl ) started this, I thought.
Hmmmmm... curiouser and curiouser.

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — US supergroup Guns N'Roses will unveil their first original album in 17 years next month with the release of long-awaited work "Chinese Democracy", a statement said Thursday.
The long-delayed album will go on sale in the United States on November 23 while the title track "Chinese Democracy" has already been released to radio, the band's managers said.
The album is Guns N' Roses' first since the 1991 release of Use of Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II.
"The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock n' roll," co-managers Irving Azoff and Andy Gould said in a statement. "Guns N' Roses fans have every reason to celebrate, for this is only the beginning."
Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose is the only member of the band's 1991 line-up to feature on the new album, which will include 14 tracks.
The band has sold 90 million albums worldwide, with 42 million in the United States alone, with the group's seminal "Appetite for Destruction" -- featuring hits "Welcome To the Jungle" and "Sweet Child o'Mine" -- its most famous.

There's been a bunch of the tracks leaked for a while now, you can grab em on Demonoid or Piratebay. They're all genuine, I think 8 of them altogether.
They're not bad... but, they don't sound anything like the GnR you remember.
Don't you get it?! We are the walking dead! We are the walking dead...

so, the new album got release today. EW.com gave it a B-. Is anyone here really excited about it to the point of buying it today?
For me, I'll be buying the now Killer's CD today.

The only thing the album has going for it is that it still has at least some of Buckethead's guitar work on it. I would not buy it in a billion years, and I am thankful his tenure in the band was short-lived, but he is among the best living guitar players so whatever track(s) he is on should have some interesting guitar work. I would like to know which song(s) he plays on and perhaps download those just to hear what he brought to the table because it's almost always something unique.
I agree with the sentiment that this band should not be called Guns N Roses, however, Buckethead (aka Brian Carroll) is a phenomenal musician and a much better guitar player than Slash. No offense to Slash, nor would I think he would take any. I think he knows how good Buckethead is. He's in a class all by himself.
Shackler's Revenge, Scraped, and Sorry all were co-written by Buckethead. So those probably have his guitar work.
Thank you, Wikipedia!
My favorite bands can kick your favorite bands' asses.
The horizon is right and motionless like the EKG of a dying woman.
Correction, if I had scrolled down more:
* Buckethead – lead guitar (all tracks except 7, 13)
He shares duties with Bumblefoot.

Well there you go. Thanks Fruno (and Wikipedia). As much as I am expecting to not care for the album, I am nonetheless compelled to listen to those tracks because knowing there is Buckethead music that I haven't heard is unacceptable.
Also, I believe it's Bumblefoot, not bramble. His real name is Ron Thal.
At last i got around to buying this cd,wish i had'nt bothered what a load of crap.Nothing like gnr at all, taking it back for a refund or exchange.
Izzy Stradlin was the main music writer on most of Appetite. After he left the band used what he had written for the Abuse Your Delusion albums. When he left I really lost interest in G-N-R.
I will say I was glad when they came out in the 80s. The West Coast rock scene was beyond lame at that point. Slash also reminded guitar players that rock was invented by Chuck Berry and not Niccolò Paganini.
