I have to admit, this was one of my most favorite parts of the book. Not only the story itself, but the idea that women of the calla would practice that very thing as a weapon.
You know he thought he would get some for sure that night.

The kindness of close friends is like a warm blanket
Another great moment in the series and in my second favorite book of the series.. I love learning about myths of Mid-World.
"It's his eyes, Roland thought. They were wide and terrible, the eyes of a dragon in human form" - Roland seeing the Crimson King for the first time.
"When the King comes and the Tower falls, sai, all such pretty things as yours will be broken. Then there will be darkness and nothing but the howl of Discordia and the cries of the can toi" - From Song of Susannah
This was my singular favorite part of the book. Not only is the actual story fascinating, it sets up "throwing the dish" in such a way as to give it a deeper historical meaning. That level of depth is something that makes me love DT that much more.
I agree, it was a really cool story and totally original.
The idea of them having dinner together naked made me a little randy

Somehow I get the sense that you and MonteGss will get along splendidly R_of_G
