Awesome!
Letti, I am hiding in a shadowy corner, waiting you to read and finish the story. Then I will come forward to ask some questions about it. I am curious about your ideas.
I really liked this story, in fact, years back when I first read The Gunslinger I didn't like it. It was when I read this story that made me really like the series and now I love it.
I'd love to see this story as a comic book by Marvel. I think that would be pretty cool.
I have just finished it.
Wow.
I liked it.
Roland would have understood.
"It's his eyes, Roland thought. They were wide and terrible, the eyes of a dragon in human form" - Roland seeing the Crimson King for the first time.
"When the King comes and the Tower falls, sai, all such pretty things as yours will be broken. Then there will be darkness and nothing but the howl of Discordia and the cries of the can toi" - From Song of Susannah
I'd like to see more short stories like this.
At this point I was just glad to be reading about Roland again, it could have been a story about him taking a piss and I would have been satisfied.
Having said that, it was very interesting to see a new dynamic of Roland, not yet so cut-throat. It was also good to not see a bunch of action happening, but more of a "what else could go wrong" type story.
I liked it, and I wish King would write more about Roland.

Just read it. As a stand alone story, it is ok, but serves as a Roland fix. Like pizza and sex, even when a Roland story isn't great, it is still pretty good.
Well stated, Chuck!
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
I liked it fine, but I really struggled with reading it. There didn't seem to be any context as to why he was there. I really need to read it again, but it was OK. It added something to the DT storyline, but it wouldn't be missing something without it
Roland would have understood.
It's an awesome short story. Loved it
Absolutely loved it!
