yep, I remember those tooSpoiler:
Has anyone ever wondered that maybe Pennywise is alive? Because recently in Kings books, hints have been scattered about hinting at IT's return. I personal am swayed to believe that Pennywise still exsists in the Kingverse but I think that a sequel may be a little blasphemous to the original...thought?
"Come on, lets face it. At what point or another, we all wanted to be a superhero
No, I honestly don't think he'd ever write that sequel.
Yes, there's a very good chance it survived beyond the end of the story, but I just don't see him revisiting it.

OMG I hope not.

So why hint at Pennywise's survival for notihng?
"Come on, lets face it. At what point or another, we all wanted to be a superhero
I would not be surprised to see a sequel to IT, and if it were to happen, I would expect it to be a completely new tale, with a whole new cast of children. Maybe some of the original Losers Club could be represented, but I would not expect them to be major players. With what we saw in UTD, it would be hard to deny that Pennywise is not at least on Sai King's mind, but I don't think we would se a rehashing of the original. (or at least I would hope not) I would like to see a followup to IT, but I would hope that it had little resemblance to the original.

Dear TheCrisisKing, ManOfWesternesse, and John Blaze,
I'm not sure how many things I need to get spoiled for me before this catches on: Follow the spoiler tag rules! If the thread title does not have "SPOILERS" in it, then you need to place anything hinting at the ending (such as Pennywise living or dying) in spoiler tags. That way, innocent people like myself would not have books ruined. Thank you very much for your time.
Use more discretion and follow thread rules,
Matthew

Ditto. I agree that if you're entering a book discussion about whether there should be a sequel you should expect spoilers.
However, in the interest of peace, i will go back and mark my spoilers.
"So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the King, obey the King, obey your father, protect the innocent, defend the weak. But what if your father despises the King? What if the King massacres the innocent? It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or another."
You'd be surprised how many things I've had ruined for me on this site because of improper postings (mostly because of a lack of spoiler warnings).
I can understand where one might assume this thread could contain spoilers, but I think (or, at least, thought) everyone here loves Sai King's works enough to do everything possible to make sure nothing is going to be spoiled, the least of which being to put "SPOILERS" in the thread title. I stay out of the IT thread for a reason: I want to keep the work a secret until I can find time to read it. However, if there's discussion of Sai King writing another book, obviously I'm going to assume that the spoiler part of it would be left in the IT thread, while this thread would simply be used to discuss the prospect of a new book.
The point is: I've had way too many things spoiled for me on this site. I really don't mean to come across as a hard-ass, but stuff like this pisses me the fuck off. Especially when it's spoiled for me while I'm making sure to stay away from the threads that are designated as the spoiler threads (namely, I'm following the rules). Whether it was intentional or not, I don't care. I just don't want to see it happen anymore. We're getting people joining this site left and right, yet there's still far too much nonchalance when it comes to posting.

It's not a discussion on whether it should be done, it's a discussion on whether people think it will be done. Read the thread title. Not to mention that it's really simple to discuss whether a sequel should be written without giving anything away (RE: BROWNINGS CHILDE's post). It's exceptionally easy to put spoiler tags around something or in a thread title. It's exceptionally difficult to forget major details of a book's plot (including the ending) once it's been ruined for you.

I understand. And to be honest, I had read almost every King work before joining this site, so spoilers have not been an issue for me. If I may, I will say this about this particular incident: If it is a matter of whether or not Pennywise is left alive or killed at the end of It. You may find at the end that you still do not have the definitive answer.

You're a very lucky man, then. I wish I had read most of King's work before coming on here. It would have made everything so much easier. I'm glad to hear it's completely ambiguousbut that still doesn't make anything better. I still know as much about it as I would if it was a definitive alive or dead scenario.DTVII

Obviously you feel very strongly about that, and I apologize for any inconvenience this caused you.

I imagine if there was to be a follow-up it would be as abstractly related as Black House is to The Talisman. There is no reason to make a sequel to It unless further tying in Derry to Mid-World is the basis for it, in my opinion. Insomnia (by proxy) and the DT tie-in is as close as a sequel to It as I think we'll ever see. I'd be more interested in seeing any expurgated texts from the novel, personally.
SynysterSaint, i understand your point, but, why do you read a thread about a sequel if you don't know the previus book? It is like read TDTIV without knew nothing about Roland... But i repeat, i understand your point, use a spoiler tag is not that difficult

It's not a thread about the sequel but a discussion on whether it would happen. Do I really need to read the original book in order to get excited Sai King writing another book? This thread wasn't designated as an IT spoiler thread, it was simply designated as a discussion about whether a sequel will be written. Again, look at BROWNINGS CHILDE's first post. It contains no real spoilers while discussing his ideas on the matter.
^That's why I opened this thread. You won't find me complaining in the IT thread or any other one where it clearly states that there are spoilers.
