If anyone has an ARC of DTIII, I'd be interested to know your price.

Also, for you hard-core ARC collectors, how would one secure an ARC of UTD?

Ricky, there are a number of ways. One is to have some contacts that can get you one. Another is to become a reviewer and have the publisher send you one. (This is not easy, however.) Still another is to wait and possibly get one in the secondary market, such as eBay or ABE.

Regarding your quest for a proof of DTIII, there are actually two different proofs--one for the Grant edition and one for the Plume trade paperback edition. Both occasionally show up on the secondary market. Pictures of each can be seen in my Collections thread.

    Thanks John.

I figured that the only way (for me, at least--probably for most people) is to get them from ABE or something along those lines.

About the DTIII proof, I meant to clarify that I'm looking for the Grant edition. And the hunt continues...

It shows the high bid right now is $464. I don't know if your bid was accepted.

That's my bid John. I put a $800 bid in, but it only shows the bid higher than the last person's (who happens to be Mike Pasiuk).

I am the highest bidder but my $800 is under the reserve price.

Oh, okay. I forgot how eBay does things for a moment there.

I plan on bidding again (I had an initial bid of $100) but I fully expect to be outbid at the end.

Please be cautious with this seller. Here is the previous listing:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I was the high bidder on the previous listing and paid promptly with PayPal. The seller refunded my payment stating that he had hoped to sell it for at least $2500 and refused to honor my winning bid. From the tone of the e-mails (poor grammar, poor spelling, etc.) I suspect that these are probably poorly educated and certainly unethical people.

Yes, thanks for the info Bob.

I would have reported them to ebay and Paypal. And I would have included their emails to prove that they broke all their rules.

I put in a bid of $2000 for the Night Shift proof to test the waters. (I rejected it shortly after)

It did not make the reserve price!

I did report them to both entities along with the e-mail texts and headers. I think the bottom line is that since my payment was refunded there will be no further action taken. I am left with being able to leave negative feedback and, really, nothing else.
