The day before yesterday (Dec 18 ) I checked the missed calls in my phone and found out that Alexander had called on Dec 19. This back-to-the-future call surprised me, and I re-checked the time and date settings in my phone. It insisted it was the 19th, for a reason I don't dare to guess at. I wonder how often it does it; should check more often. Maybe it makes it the 19th every time it thinks I'm not looking.

i was looking up the religion Saneteria on wikipedia, and saw that there are these women called the Mothers of Orisha, and i immediately thought of the Daughters of Oriza.

The nicknames of these 2 authors are not legit, however. I think Steve just wanted Jake to reference Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in the essay. Mayhap this is just because of the western theme of the series.

I think King had his tongue firmly in his cheek with those titles*. A way of marrying those authors with the western-like setting of In/Mid-World.
I've never heard of Saneteria. The mixture of African religion and Catholicism reminds me of Voodoo though.
*I had 'Jake' in place of 'King' when I first wrote that sentence. But then I remember Jake didn't remember much of what he wrote.
On saturdays, i ride the bus to and from the local fairgrounds. Always, on the way back, i notice a house on the side on the side of the main street, with simply the number 19 nailed in big numbers on the side of the house (and of course i envy the people who are lucky enough to live in lovely little house #19). And always, right after i see that house, there's a sign on one of the streetlights indicating "MILE 19". Later, on this same bus route, i pass a dental clinic, advertising checkups for $19.00. Then, of course, the last sigul, you might say, i pass on my way home is a flower shop, where the big main sign is centered with three pictures of a rose, in three stages of blooming.
My significant other also happens to be 19 years old. c: (too bad he was born on the 20th, eh?)
