Bob, thanks for sharing, I read it with pleasure.
Nice one Bob and thanks for sharing it.
Thanks, everyone. It's just one of those things that is bound to happen occasionally with all the junk I buy.
Due in later this week (or early next week with the holiday interrupting mail service) are three items that I think are pretty neat. I'll post them as they show up. Most probably won't think they are that special but some, particularly jhanic, will probably like them.
Eagerly waiting!!!
John
Proofs?
Bob-
You NEVER cease to amaze me. And thanks for sharing it with us.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Maybe a little. Mostly, though, it is to not jinx myself. I never count on a book being in my collection until I actually have it in my hands. I've had a few (very few, thankfully) items lost in the mail, etc.
And, again, these items are not very expensive ones and will have limited appeal but have gotten me pretty pumped up. And make it FOUR items on the way. I just hit on another one I have been long looking for this morning!
Bob-
I am amazed at how you can juggle a great career job, family, and what must be immense time cruising and finding new items for your collection. What do you cut out of your life...sleep?
<woo-hoo, Wiz pats self on back as he reaches his 1,000th post here>

Don't give me too much credit. I just spend WAY too much time on the internet. I actually find it pretty relaxing and very enjoyable. I've developed some searching protocols (nothing elaborate) that work for me and can pretty quickly scan new listings on eBay, ABE, etc. to find the things that interest me. I do them daily and I suspect I am not doing anything much different than many other collectors. There is a lot of competition out there.
The Dark Forces ARC just arrived. Turns out it is signed by 9 authors:
Dennis Etchison
Edward Bryant
Karl Wagner
Gene Wolfe
Ramsey Campbell
Joe Haldeman
Charles Grant
Richard Christian Matheson (the son)
Stephen King
The book is in pretty good condition, but in a couple places the pages are at risk of coming loose from the spine because I think the book has been opened a lot. Still, I am quite happy with it.

Thanks Bob. I will keep that in mind.

Yea, you're not. I've been told by another that does similar things. I personally haven't figured that out yet, but I need too, as there are some books that I just can never find, and I bet they come and go, but my skills are not sharp enough to catch them when they are available.

I picked up issue #5 of the Long Road Home today as well as both sketch variants ($25 total for both). My dealer also threw in a free copy of The Stand sketch book. Pretty cool.
Now that the second story arc is complete, I will bundle up all of my copies/variants/End-World Almanac and ship them out to Jae for him to sign.

Today I picked up The Long Road Home #5, End World Almanac, Locke & Key #5 and the free The Stand Sketch Book!
David, my comic book dealer is not so generous as he wants $15 for the color variant and $30 for the Ketch version. I am going ot wait 'em out and get 'em cheaper on ebay in a few months! :-)

Spoiler:
I wonder if anyone can get one extra the stand sketchbook for me. I seriously doubt I'll be able to get one by the moment I visit a comic store in NY.
Thanks in advance!!!!

I got the same comics as everyone else. The End-World Almanac was a bonus--I didn't know it was coming out. My comic guy did hook me up with the sketchbook, but no extra's. I'm going across town tomorrow to see if I can snag another.
