Yep. Nice haul, David.
Yep. Nice haul, David.
Nice stuff Dave.
Thanks for the info guys.
I also vaguely remember something like what Bob said. I've looked through a lot of my notes but can't find anything.
John
Nice stuff everyone !! Here is my latest buy, just got it this morning !
Signed 1st/1st Duma Key
What is the opinion on leaving the sticker on the cover that says auotgraphed copy? I usually remove them if theyhave one, just so it eventually does not damage the cover years fromnow whenthe glue gets old.

I also say to leave it on.
By the way, a nice acquisition!
John
I'm glad that question was asked, I was wondering the same thing about the one I have for the giveaway.

definitely leave it on!.... it helps verify the signature and anything that adds authenticity adds value.
in my view... it is part of the book... since it was sold with it as part of a "signature" package.
if you want to buy a second first edition... with a bookcover without the sticker...it's a small investment... and should the sticker somehow "damage the signed cover" you always have a backup cover to put on the signed book.
I always remove the sticker, if they come with one. But I really have no good argument as to why I do this? lol
btw, good stuff guys!
Geoff
I remove all stickers as well ("Borders 20% off", etc.), but I would leave a sticker that says "Autographed Copy".
Nice acquisitions, David and Rusty.
Love that signed LOST photo, Ricky!

Thanks Patrick!
Nice stuff guys! I'm especially jealous of that signed Duma Key.
A NEW GAME BEGINS
You might get one in the giveaway Ricky

I think I'd scream if I did...then jump around...then faint.
A NEW GAME BEGINS
Oh...then I'm sure it'd be for the best if we removed your name from the drawing, eh?
Good point, Brice. We don't want the site liable for anyone hurting themselves because they won a charity drawing.

Nice try guys. If I was injured because of the charity drawing, I wouldn't sue Matt anyway--I think he used all his money for his D.C. trip.

You've actually got that pretty much right.

Some pics of recent acquisitions:
This is a proof copy of Small World, Tabitha King's first published novel. Not in the greatest of shape, but the seller notes that it was once Peter Straub's copy (although I cannot verify this).
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Signed first edition of Small World. Book was published in 1981 and signed in 1982...close enough for me.

Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Owen King's We're All in This Together - signed

Letter that came with an Advanced Reading Copy of Owen's book

Very, very nice, David!

Ok Ok OK...I thought it was pretty cool that SK would cross out his printed name and then sign above or below it, but Owen copys that..my god will that guy at least TRY to be original for gods sake!
If it weren't for integrity...what would you be? Ka is a wheel.....
