I contacted the official retailer at Fenway Park as soon as the book was for sale and they already only had 5th printings in stock. I finally got a first on ABE later but I had to send out a lot of inquiries before I found one.

Hi all. My Pride and Joy has arrived. When I started collecting I was fascinated with the Cycle of the Werewolf. I thought it was just amazing... I always wanted the books and then got the matching sets into my head which has kept my getting any copies of it until about 5 months ago when a set presented itself. A lot of money but I sold some things to finance it. When I was told the reality of the amount sets in perfect shape out there and matching.. I had to.. I could not pass. This is set #85 and does have the original Bernie of a wolf!

What is so cool about this set? Well.... I had to protect it due to the fragile nature of both of them. The DJ to the book and the portfolio itself. I hired a large book maker in the industry that I trusted and knew could make stuff that was out of this world. I had them create this masterpiece. My only things were: I wanted the largest wolf in the world (Canadian Grey Wolf OR Timber Wolf) to be involved and a pure silver bullet. I found a 99.9% silver bullet and had it mounted in the case you see below. The second was the hair from the wolf woven into the fabric somehow on the traycase and somewhere. The case weighs in a near 35lbs. It is as big as a deluxe Knowing Darkness as it has metal going through the case for support. The foil stamping done in silver obviously and a slide out tray case to protect the portfolio. Please enjoy my pictures and this is by far... one of my absolute most precious pieces. Pretty proud of this guy. I always wanted a Whelan Prelim or original from a book... with the iconic number "19". Whelan did two that i know of... and no prelims. A good friend of mine (AKC) has a wonderful one and I thought they were gone... the other long sold off being an older book. When I was visiting... Audrey and Michael knew I wanted a "19" and they had never sold the other one. They got it out and had it sitting against a wall just seeing if I would notice. HELL YES I noticed and promptly looked at my wife and begged. She was A-OK with me getting it. Nice size piece too. I LOVE IT. I just cannot get enough of Michael Whelan's work. I prefer it over any other artist... I hope to acquire more over time but it gets hard to find. This is "19" from the Dark Tower #7!

Oh, I will have it done professionally although I worked as a framer all throughout high school. If I had all the tools, I would do it myself.
