Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one and only truth.
Who knows.
All I know is that whenever something funny happened on screen, I would look over to see if she was laughing and she was just sitting there with no expression.
It's almost like she didn't even realize there was a movie playing in front of her. Her boyfriend was cracking up though.
Hey, where do you guys like to sit when you go to the movies? I like sitting in the back row on the end cap. I'm pretty tall, so I like to stretch my legs.

I try to sit as close to dead-center of the theater as possible. It seems the right distance from the screen and all of the speakers. Plus, I cannot stand to be off to one side or the other.

I sit in the center of the back row, mostly because I get anxious when people sit directly behind me. Or stand directly behind me while I'm sitting. I know, I'm weird

Depends on the theater.
It'll take a lot more than words and guns,
A whole lot more than riches and muscle.
The hands of the many must join as one.
And together we'll cross the river.

In our Cinema's, we have two sets of seats, the ones all on the ground, like, not raised, but sort of on a hill, and then the seats with steps. I like to sit in the first row because theres leg room, and if i need to go to the toilet, i don't have to get in anyones way.

I like to sit as far away from children and teenagers as I can get.
I always think it's funny when people sit in the very first row even though there are tons of other seats available.
I guess everybody has a favorite place to sit, but I always find the first row uncomfortable. Especially if it's an action movie.

I sit in the first row no matter what type of movie it is and whether it's full or empty in the theatre.
That would just hurt my neck. I'm with Rube on this, dead center.

I do this tri-vector thing with seating - in the middle of the row, in the middle of the screen if it's a ampitheater kind of deal ... plus it depends on where the speakers are mounted on the wall...
... I never sit in a row with a direct mounted speaker, for instance... the sound is always crappier there.
Note : This tri-vectoring thing can be a hinderance, because it should place you perfectly in the center of the screen... and when I saw Blair Witch... it completely removed my peripheral vision and I ended up really sort of nauseous.

While we're on this topic- I hate when you go to the movies for the first time with someone you're not so comfortable with, like on a date for example, and you have that awkward moment of deciding where to sit in the theatre and in your head you know exactly where you want to sit but don't want to seem like a maniac so you kind of dilly dally and try to steer the person in the direction you want to go in. Just me? K.

Has anyone seen that documentary about Lebron James, and his high school teammates? I love sports documentaries, in general, but the fact that he executive produced it makes me thing it might not be worth watching.
I finally saw this one though:
And loved it!
I can't wait till he fights Amir Khan a couple of weeks from now.
Yeah...I would question the possible bias in James' documentary.
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
I have some doubts about any documentary that is produced by the person it is depicting... but on the subject of documentaries :
I recently saw "Assault In The Ring" a documentary about the Billy Collins, Jr vs Luis Resto fight and the scandal surrounding it.
I had no information or knowledge about the situation prior to seeing it ( not really a boxing fan ) but love documentaries, so watched it. I was impressed. It was well done.
( FYI : I believe it was also released under the title of "Cornered" or something to that effect )

If you want to see another great boxing documentary you should check out this one:
It's about the life of Emile Griffith, especially after he killed another fighter in the ring.
Here's an article that describes the film:

i typically prefer the center horizontally. may as well center yourself to the screen if you can. i generally look for seats about 1/3 of the way back from the screen. close enough to still get the full effect of seeing it on a movie screen, but far enough back to be able to not have to be looking up to do so.
oh, and as for the dating aspect of seat finding. unless a date ever made any specific requests to sit some place, i just led the way. had it not been acceptable, i was open to suggestion (and then i'd say no )
