There are a lot of subtle touches you might miss not being familiar with Dostoevsky. There are a lot of allusions to old school Russian society in there. I haven't watch enemy but I can't see it being as visually inventive as The Double. There so much awesome in the visuals. I'll be watching enemy in a few days, looking forward to it.

It's amazing, isn't it, Amanda? Definitely need to watch it again soon.

Just watched The Double. Loved it, as expected. Love the dark, bleak style of it, and the humour, while a little uncomfortable at times, was great. Jesse Eisenberg really got to show off how good an actor he is, too, he really played both characters so effortlessly.

I just re-watched The Double and enjoyed it even more. The humour is so malicious you have be at least a little twisted to see any humour in it at all haha. I love the props and how none of the technology seems to be locked into any specific time period. Like Dark City it's trapped in unending night. "No offense mate but you're kind of unnoticable. You're a bit of a non-person." So many great caustic lines in that film. I love the allusions to communist Russia, and that sci-fi television show that is seen throughout the film haha. I love this shot so much.

My Most Anticipated Films of 2015

Every year I always have a lot of fun putting this list together. I love to find new films to look forward to that I'm not familiar with. I have a short write-up on each film that I hope people find fun to read, as well as informative. Hopefully a few of these films will find their way on to your radar.

Hell naw! I did a shit ton of research.

There are a bunch of films that lots of people want to see that I have no interest in. 50 Shades of Grey, the Spongebob film, Entourage, The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Insidious 3, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and Magic Mike XXL just to name a few. It's shocking how many films get released every year once you really start digging.

This list doesn't even include the countless Indie films that will pop up as the year progresses. Films like The Drop, Whiplash, Birdman, Foxcatcher, Theory of Everything, Nightcrawler and The Babadook didn't even make my 2013 list and they were among my favorite films of the year.

Mike just explained why I barely bother with looking forward to movies lol. The best ones are almost always films you don't hear about until release time...or after they've been on limited release for months. Most movie anticipation talk I see is about the next comic book film or next booksseries becoming a movie so it kind of deters me from looking much deeper haha.

You didn't look at my list if you think that's all that's on there. I have Richard Linklater's next film on there. There's no poster or an actual plot description, yet it's on there.

There are tons of films on there that aren't blockbusters, made by A-list directors. I'm sure there are going to be a lot of great films released that we have no clue about. I just hate the thought that because something is popular and mainstream that it can't be good. A lot of the films on there might not be good, but I'm sure I will have a fun time at the theater.

Oscar films aren't the only films where I can enjoy myself.

    Yes, I just quoted myself.

The reason being is that I just watched The Grand Budapest Hotel and...
... I'll give him this one. It was damn fantastic! Easily his best film. I feel compelled to go back and watch it soon, which doesn't happen often and never happens with me with Anderson's films.

I still have some issues with his films, but Budapest really worked for me.

Glad you like Budapest. It really is a wonderful film. I think I like it better than Tenenbaums which I loved for years (it rounded out my top 10 of the 2000s).
