    :coffee: This?...No That

Submitted for your approval, something a little different:

The first part of the sentence (prior to the No) defines a play on words of the answer in question. The second part (after the No) truly defines the word.

    For example:
Feline buttocks commendation? No, a misfortunate event.
Answer: Catastrophe (CAT ASS TROPHY*) *with respects to Piers Anthony

Molten rock in the shape of an American colonial British loyalist?
    No, a bathroom. lava tory...razz

A short rest with family members?
No, proper dining linen Nap kin...razz

    Prohibited coffee?
No, an instrument. Ban Joe (banjo)...John_and_Yoko

Fauna (should have been Flora...my mistake!...Gaberax) that produces pikes?
No, an esculent avian POLE TREE...Poultry....John_and_Yoko

    An angry reddish-brown horse?
    No, semi-frozen juice SORE BAY...Sorbet...alinda
Here are 5 from me. If you like the format and can come up with some of your own, please share with the tribe.
    Grrr...

Okay, I'm wanting to say "poultry" ("pole tree") for the remaining one, but a tree is not an example of fauna (it's flora)....

And you would be correct. It was supposed to be flora but I farqed up. Thanks for straightening me out on that, John_and_Yoko.

    You're welcome.

I'm surprised I did get it right, though, since I tend to take things at face value....

Thanks, Maturins_Daughter. I have been toying with the idea for a couple of weeks. It was like a splinter in my finger...working its way out.

I think I've got one...this is very simplistic as a first effort:
