...and my wife is getting very impatient. i think she's about ready to be done being pregnant and get on with the baby part of things. we go to the doctor tomorrow to see if she's made any progress since last week's visit. she's hoping the baby will come this weekend so she won't have to go back to work monday.
when was her given Due Date? My wife chose to have the labor induced 3 days after her due date, because it was convenient for us. It worked out fine. Our doctor has said many times he actually prefers doing that, because then the labor can be scheduled and more convenient for everyone. It worked for us.

She's called Seren, its a Welsh name which means Star.

They let me go way over 11 days! I was booked in to be induced on 20 days over my due date, but had him naturally on 19 days over - must have been panic!

off tangent for a second - I watched a doco called "The Business of Being Born" - very interesting, about the US Hospital -vs- home birth / birthing centre / midwife methods. It gives insight into the pros and cons of both, but its leaning is pro-midwifery - Ricki Lake produced it after having two kids, one in either system.
