Wow, that looks amazing. When you walk into a framing store, if I wanted something to look like that, what would I be asking for? Because you have a border around it, then a little white space then the main matting, etc ... and then the frame. They look great together.

The "white space" your are seeing is the matt itself where it's been cut (underneath the black and the red matt) the way Bob's framer did the art is a traditional "double matt".

Congrats Bob on another fantastic framing fob, looks wonderful.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I really like these two pieces a lot. As I said earlier in this thread, these are a couple of pieces that my wife will allow to be hung outside of the basement. These are in the dining room.

For anyone interested, Tomas at skcollector.com sent an email that Mark Geyer is having a sale on remarques for Rose Madder or The Green Mile.

    Here's the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MarkEdwardG...f=pr_shop_more

Personally, I prefer it when the artist shows off their range a little more by doing unique remarques, rather than everyone gets the same one (Glenn Chadbourne is a great example of being unique), but it's still cool to get an original sketch on a 1st ed or S/L no matter what.

Thanks for posting Bdwyer. You're right the subject matter on some of the remarques would be the same. (The large electric chair for example) but no two chairs would be identical. But with Mark agreeing to temporarily set prices starting at just $60, it's an extremely affordable way for people to get a Remarque into their collection.

If anyone wants to see more examples of Mark's remarques you can find them here http://www.stephenkingcollector.com/...ies/geyer.html

And if there are any questions I'd be happy to answer them, or talk to Mark and get back to you guys.
    Thanks much,

FWIW I have obtained two Remarques from Mr. Geyer, and a nicer more acomodating artist would be hard to find. He's a great guy and those are GREAT PRICES!!! I speak from experience!!! Again, FWIW

    Good Job, Tom!!!

    Default Mark Edward Geyer, artist

Mark Geyer had asked me to post information regarding his original art for sale

Most of them are from his children's book The Inquisitor's Apprentice . According to Mark:

I am currently illustrating two different middle-grade series for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt: The Inquisitor's Apprentice and The Letterford Mysteries, the first of which is called Secrets of Shakespeare's Grave. The Inquisitor's Apprentice was voted by Kirkus Reviews as one of 2011's Best Graphic Novels and Illustrated Chapter Books and only fourteen titles total were given this distinction. That I signed at Books of Wonder in NYC last October and at Comic Con in NYC last October, too. That my Inquisitor Apprentice originals are on sale now on my Etsy site:

If this is not the appropriate place to post, please feel free to move it. Thanks.

Try this thread? Mark has been a great supporter of the Haven Fund in the past. Perhaps the threads should be merged? Not saying that you are not doing well by him at all. Just maybe the exposure is already in place is all.

Yes, it is on its way to me. I hope to frame it to match the other two pieces of art pictured earlier in this thread. I think they will compliment each other pretty well.

Bob, many Stately Homes in the UK have thrown open their doors for the 'common people' to be allowed in and view the treasures inside. I would urge you to consider the same. Doesn't have to be everyday - just maybe weekends and holidays... I would gladly buy a ticket to be allowed to wander (and wonder..) around your house!

(You could even sell your own "I have seen Bob's Jewels!" T-shirts!)
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

A ticket isn't necessary. Just a little advance notice and I will throw open the doors for frequenters of Calvin's Corner.

Thanks Bob. No idea when work will get me over to the US, but I'll definitely bear that in mind.

Imagine my surprise when I thumbed through my trade edition of Turn Down The Lights and did not find Mark's artwork for "Summer Thunder" anywhere in the book. Mark is currently trying to find out what the heck happened. He is not listed on the copyright/credit page so it looks to have been omitted on purpose. Could be an interesting story to tell when we get an explanation.

Never mind. We just reread the CD listing and there is no artwork in the trade edition, just the limited editions.
