Best episodes so far? The Deadly Assassin, Season 14. I totally dig the Ken doll.
Had the pleasure of meeting Sylvester McCoy (and Karen Gillan) at the SciFi Fan Expo here in Dallas this past weekend. He is an unbelievably adorable and charming old man!
Haha, yeah, gotta love that little 'special effect'. But seriously, that story is definitely one of my favourites, both for the exploration of Gallifrey in wonderfully dark, Gothic sets and for that seriously fucking trippy 3rd ep. Probably one of the most "WTF?!" moments in the show:

Lucky! Love Sylvester McCoy. Brilliant Doctor.

There's been some rumours based on a quote a director made (“I’ve got two more weeks shooting Doctor Who, which hopefully is going to go in July"), but the way it could be read has been VERY open to interpretation - could mean that July is when the episodes are released, but it could also mean that it's when production of the eps he's working on are done or post-production, who knows. Fingers crossed that's when the series will be released, but I won't get my hopes up just yet.
In the meantime, the latest Eighth Doctor season Dark Eyes 2 was released just a couple of days ago. Like Dark Eyes 1, so fucking good! A non-linear time travel epic that begins one way and completely changes direction the next ep, before coming together in the final episode. I also loved a lot of returning elements from the Big Finish universe (including the Doctor's house down Baker Street), and the return of Alex MacQueen's character from UNIT: Dominion was fucking AWESOME! In short, possibly my favourite Doctor Who story since The Day of the Doctor.

apparently matt smith may make a return for one episode in the next doctor who series
From what I have read it might just be his voice. Remember the scene when she returns to the TARDIS and the phone is off the hook. She hung it up, then went inside.

Holy shit, while I had heard about the 11 phone call rumour, I had actually forgotten about the phone being off the hook in Time of the Doctor. Wow, that sounds like brilliant planning on Moffat's part. Really can't wait for the first ep. And the more behind-the-scenes stuff I see of Capaldi and Coleman, the more I'm convinced the pair will have surprisingly amazing chemistry together on screen.
Now catching up on some of my Doctor Who audios (of which, due to buying many from sales, there are surprisingly a lot I've yet to listen to), and listening to the Companion Chronicles range: 1 hour stories that are more 'audiobook' than most other of Big Finish's ranges, usually focusing on the first four Doctors. It's actually coming to an end soon, which is a shame, there's been many fantastic stories in the range.

LOL so watching last weeks episode of walking dead and a commercial for a con that will be in the DC area in April. My wife started laughing because of the name awesome con. I was sort of interested because one of the people there was gonna be Peter Mayhew Chewie from Star Wars. So getting to the point I rewind to the start to see who else would be there since I was curious and the first person they show is Billy Piper. My wife nearly lost her shit when she saw that and now really wants to go. She told me that if the ponds were gonna also be there she would of bought tickets right then. As of right now it looks like we might go.
If you do, remember to take pics, Tatts.

Watching the arrival of the 5th Doctor... this is one I've been anticipating, because I'm a fan of Peter Davison's other work. I find the involvement of "the watcher" interesting in this one. Not quite how I expected the switch-over to be.
It's definitely an unusual one, isn't it? Imo, Logopolis isn't a bad story, but it's not the greatest regeneration story I've seen, either. Kinda felt padded in the first half as opposed to the second half. Still, a nice exit scene for Tom Baker, at least.

Watching The Five Doctors. So. Much. Awesome!!!
I know, right? I was especially glad to see Troughton and Pertwee back especially. Not the best story in the world (although you're not far from Androzani, now), but heaps of fun. And you continue to impress me how rapidly you're going through the show. When you finally reach the TV movie, if you find yourself craving some 8th Doctor when you reach him (or at least, some 8th Doctor in a GOOD story), let me know, as I have all his audio stories so far.

anyone else seen the TARDIS keyblade?
I'm still watching the Five Doctors, been a busy few days. I love how all the characters are so "them" even all together, their distinct personalities are so great!
Also... what a nod to the Dark Tower!!
(or rather, the DT would be a nod to this... but you get my meaning.)
will this be a problem for the show in the future?
The BBC itself is in danger
