That's strange! He must have restarted with the idea entirely. He's written in the past that both The Cannibals and Under The Dome had been lost.
Very very interesting. Thanks for the post.
This is great news. I have the Book TV episode recorded on my DVR but didn't get a chance to watch it yet. Knowing he read from Under the Dome, I'll watch it as soon as possible!
hmmm interesting!
it would be nice to see that documentary..
apparently, a re-schedule is planned for : Saturday, May 17, at 8:00 AM
(according to the TV channel website...)
if anyone find an online version, please let me know, ta
Here is the C-SPAN 2 show online and for purchase on DVD.
From SKMB Mod
He doesn't know when Under the Dome will be finished. It's already "very long" and he doesn't see an end in sight. When it will be published hasn't been discussed but chances are it won't be next year as obviously the first draft has to be completed before editing and production work can begin.
Under the Dome is getting longer.... from SKMB.
Steve has wanted to keep details to himself until the novel is closer to publication. He's still working on it and it's now well over 1,100 manuscript pages long; he's thinking it will probably be at least 1,800 before he's done but that's as much as I am at liberty to tell you.
thanks a lot!
If Steve is re-writting some unfinished works, we could imagine that The PLant will may be worked again on...
Could anyone transcribe the four pages that Stephen read? Or is a transcript available somewhere?
Look up a couple of messages to my previous post. You can see it online.
What does that translate to in printed pages of a regular hardcover?
The final three books of the Dark Tower series were 2500 pages in manuscript in total. A lot depends on the design and layout of the final book, but that should give you a ballpark idea of what to expect.
Of course, its obvious what King is doing....yeah, thats right. He's doing a sequel to the best movie ever made -
"It's his eyes, Roland thought. They were wide and terrible, the eyes of a dragon in human form" - Roland seeing the Crimson King for the first time.
"When the King comes and the Tower falls, sai, all such pretty things as yours will be broken. Then there will be darkness and nothing but the howl of Discordia and the cries of the can toi" - From Song of Susannah
So are we looking at a multi-volume novel here?
Hey drunkenpriest, great to see you again. That was some great info, thanks for posting it.
The kindness of close friends is like a warm blanket
So, the longest book by King, looks like, even longer that the uncut Stand.
Ms. Mod is reporting that Under the Dome is finished and headed to the editor.
No release date yet but that's still pretty cool. She posted a weight for the document but I can't seem to find it now. It was BIG
New fiction is always good. New LONG fiction is great!
I found the reference. Ms. Mod says it weighs 16 pounds! WOW!!
