Found 2 comics in my boxes yesterday that I am going to submit to CGC. I searched my boxes to see if I had a copy. To my surprise I found that I had 2 copies! Both unread, originally bagged and boarded...pictures to come tomorrow.

Thinking man's science fiction. Also, it's bizarre and funny as hell.

There are sooo many incredible/next level s.f. comics coming out right now. If people could only get over the notion that comics are kiddie stuff...

Been enjoying this one. Not quite as strong in "the new 52" as Batman so far, but still an enjoyable read. I love that it takes place early in Superman's career while avoiding a complete retelling of the origin story once again. It's also nice that, as powerful as Superman is, some of his powers are more held in check here, including only being able to leap tall buildings instead of flying. Oh, and it's also great to finally see a Superman who's witty and cracks jokes. Let Batman be dark and serious while Superman has some fun, at least.

I've rediscovered my love for the good old E.C. Comics, of course the horror titles (Tales from the Crypt, The Vault of Horror, and The Haunt of Fear) but also Crime SuspenStories and Shock SuspenStories. I've bought the first couple of the new hardcovers with forewords by Steven Speilberg, R. L. Stine, and the likes. Unfortunately, none has a foreword by King which would have been fitting.

I explain here why you should be reading Trillium by Jeff Lemire.

I picked up EGOs first tpb by Stuart Moore on Image. He used to be Warren Ellis's editor. Great science fiction. Random buy and the title totally slipped under my radar as a monthly.

He's been writing them for decades and I'm just late to the game. I'm too technologically challenged to download stuff off torrents but if I weren't, I'd start with The Incal he did with Moebius. It's out of print and the cheapest collection on eBay is $100+ so don't feel too bad. Check out the Humanoids website, there's a ton of titles he did.

    Will report back on Bendis.

Hello, all. New to the forums, and glad to see a comics section. As a 32-year old, I had a falling out with comics from ages 13 to 24 or so. I missed a lot during that "decade", and some amazing series that I'm slowly going back and reading (Sandman, Preacher, 100 Bullets, Hellblazer etc.) I've recently been reading some of the cosmic Marvel stuff, Annihilation/Conquest, Abnett & Lanning's Guardians of the Galaxy, and LOVING these stories. Like others have said, Scott Snyder's Batman is some of the best comics I've ever read. I'm a sucker for Harley Quinn, so I also read her solo title and the New Suicide Squad. And because I'm a sucker for Spidey, so I'm reading Amazing Spider-man/Superior Spider-man, and am looking forward to the Spider-verse event.

Now that they finally re-released Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, I've started that, and that is some amazing story-telling. I've also been reading some of Geoff Johns' Green Lantern and Flash runs, and Garth Ennis' run on Punisher. I actually liked The Boys (and everything Ennis I've ever read), but I know I'm in the minority there, but I'll give anything he writes a chance. Same goes for Bendis, as I feel he is the best Spider-man writer ever. Ultimate Spider-Man and Joss Whedon/John Cassiday's run on Astonishing X-men are what got me back into comics about 10 years ago. Shannon, if you haven't read that 25-issue run of X-men, add it your list. You won't regret it. Also getting ready to dive into Locke & Key, East of West and starting volume 2 of Manhattan Projects and volume 3 of Saga. I'm more of a fan of TPB/GNs than reading month-to-month. And thanks to Lead, I now have to add Disenchanted to that list. Too many goof things to read, not enough hours in a day. Especially in a house with an eight-week old daughter.

    Just finished these trades:

Letter 44 (Rendezvous with Rama + political shenanigans) from OniPress. Sweet metallic cover, reflects whichever light you put it under
Nailbiter by Joshua Williamson. I reviewed the first issue already, it only got better after that.
Southern Bastards - Jason Aaron. If you've read his Scalped, you'll know how he can be. Violent and tragic
FBP Vol. 2 - more crazy physics. Great outside-the-box SF story

    Singles:

DT #3 - still no Roland. Cool story though but first three issues could've been told comfortably in two.
Men of Wrath #1 by Jason Aaron. Hard as nails.
The Massive - getting more interesting but if this weren't Brian Wood, it would've been bye-bye long time ago
The Unwritten - I keep saying it, this book is giving Sandman a run for his money.
