I would, but all I could discuss are the covers. I've never read them or seen the movie.

First off, let me say I own both books, and enjoyed them. They are extremely entertaining.

BUT I consider them fluff reading, and the author to be a little bit of an amateur. His writing style is all over the place, and he borrows too heavily from other authors' mythology.

How much easier can I get? I said I own the books and enjoy them. I'm putting money in this guy's pocket, capisce?

My point is, if you're going to write, and make alot of money off of it, as Paolini certainly is, why can't he get a better editor? Someone who can point out when he's getting all muddled and clear the waters?

oh i love the Intheritence Tri, but it's lighter reading...little more childish..goes in the same category as Harry Potter...those i consider childrens (ish) books and things like Anne McAffrey and Stephen King and Dean Koontz are more adult

by the way, Ka-tet? the third I'm pretty sure will be called Empire, and it has the Oromis's gold dragon, Glaedr, on it. go to shurtugal.com ^-^

i love dragosn..collect figuringes of them and they all have names, one of them is a baby dragon hatching rom an egg and he's cute and I named him Khef, and i have one thats atery colors with tanslucent wings so I named her Adurna(water) and a red and orangey one who I named Brisingr(fire)..there are a ton more but those i know you can associate with

They aren't amazing books or anything, but I think they are enjoyable.

As far as being a amateur, Paolini started writing Eragon at age 16 and published it at the age of 19. Very few writers ever publish anything that early in life, so I'd imagine he will get better.

I like that the elves in his books are atheists and vegetarians.

why is that worth a mention? Are you an atheist vegetarian?

Definately a vegetarian, and rather close to being an athiest, but I'm not. I'm not sure what I am in regard to religion anymore. I didn't mention it because of similarities to me, though. I like it because most elves in fantasy are devoutly religious, usually in some manner related to a Nature god and are generally involved in the hunt, though in a way that is very respectful to nature. I just find it interesting that his elves are so much different than the typical fantasy elf. *shrug*

it seemed to me they were very in tune with nature.

    guess we perceive things differently.

They were, but that's quite a bit different than believing in a Nature god and participating in hunting and eating animals for whatever reason that they might. In our world, quite a number of atheist vegetarians would call themselves in tune with nature as well. The fact that they don't do those two things makes them a lot different than your typical fantasy elf. That's my point. I like them because they are different.

I'd also like to mention taht I don't like or bring this aspect up because of the real world politcs behind either of those aspects of human nature. I am a vegetarian for myself and for my own reasons. i don't try to convert anyone to vegetarianism and rarely talk about it or my reasons for it unless someone asks me with serious interest. This is just a case of my liking his elves because they don't quite fit the mold for fantasy elves.

    cool.

i'm a hunter myself, yet I respect your position and would no more try to convert you to eating meat than you'd try to convert me to eating Alfalfa grass.

i own and liked both of them like said before i thought they were childish

i thought that it was kind of a starwars ripoff

with eragon being the last hope to save world from the evil empire
    sound familier

that as soon as your dragon hatches you start getting magical powers
    maybe the force

that brom eragons first trainer dies
    aka obi one "ben" Kenobi

ormis eragons second trainer a frail old elf that used to be a mighty dragon rider
maybe yoda (yoda also has elf like ears)

Please, Sai Dean, call me IR. It's what I'm called just about everywhere having to do with Stephen King. Mist is just my username.

that there would be four I didn't know but I've seen the cover of book three and I'm quite sure it's Empire. However, thisn fourth book of which you speak might be the one you say will be called Brisingr.

I'll be uploading some new pictures soon, I'll include pictures of my dragons.
