so the skull isnt done but I've decided to start another fanartish drawing...this one has a close up of Roland's head and torso, a profile image, and he's looking up. behind him there is/will be (in progress) a collage of things throughout his life..in one corner is Susan's face, in another, his original ka-tet of Cuthbert and Alain, in another will be an image of the twoer in it's field of bloody looking roses, and in the fourth is his "current" ka-tet (Jake, Eddie, Susannah, Oy, and possibly Callahan)

sorry it's on its side, but I have right side up closeups. Also, since theyre photos and not scans, they look like crap. I'll try to scan it soon, but my scanner is loud and my little brother is asleep. I have plenty of photos so there's be several posts!

this is the upper right corner. It's an image of Susan, and next to that, her being burned at reaping. it says "Roland I love thee!" and "Bird and bear and hare and fish, give my love her fondest wish."

(that reminds me, there'll be several spoliers...can someone please mark the thread as a spoiler thread please?)

the centerpiece. A tired looking Roland remembering his life, looking up at perhaps Old Mother or Old Star for comfort.

the upper left corner, a chunk of the tower and the man in black. it says "A rose, a stone, an unfound door" and "The man in lback fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."

the left side, Blaine speeds across his track beneath the quote "Blaine is a pain, and thats the truth"..above him, a magnifier, some of the roses from the tower's bloody field.

Susannah sitting on the ground, Eddie's hand on her shoulder, his other arm around jake and Oy at their feet. Above them (and just below Blaine) is Sheemie and Capi

the quote is "Go then, there are other worlds than these."

Cuthbert does a fancy bow, hands curled beneath his arm, and winks and tips his hat in his usually jocular manner. Alain stands by, quiet and thoughtful.

from front to back: Rusher, Glue Boy, and Buckskin, the horses of the original ka-tet's youth, standing about acting like their owners. Above them, a(n innacurate) quote saying "Cuthbert could not even give his horse a normal name"

thats all of them! I'll try to scan it so you have a better view, and i hope I've done everyone justice. this is how I see everyone in my mind with the exception of the few I couldn't quie get out right on paper, mainly Sheemie, Eddie, and Alain.

I also wished I'd used larger paper, for I should've liked to have included far more people and events than those few.

I've loved horses all my life aqnd theyre the things I really started with when I was little as far as any type of art went. I mean I drew everything, but theyre the first thing I remember really getting technical with. I started learning a bit of anatomy and observing and looking at pics, so thats how I got to how I am today. But! There's always room for improvement! I improve with every horse (or anything) I draw Letti!

IR - that's really, really good. Well done!

If there's one thing I might mention (for future reference), I'm not 100% convinced by the Hat (same was slightly true of the Skull pic). I think it's the brim mostly, too weak & droopy loking to me - needs to be stiffer?

Love your work - the horses are exceptional. Susan is very well done too.
