    I don't know if it's the 'best' film of the 80's, but if we're going solely on capturing the spirit of an era, the Goonies has gotta be in that top 10.

    No doubt about that. It oozes 80s. The fashion, the hair, the music, the dialogue, the humor. Pretty much everything about it is everything that was great about the 80s.

    Just because it oozes 80s does not make it a great film. Loved it when I was a kid, but tried to show it to my kids - boring!
    Showed it to my Godson. He loved it. I personally still find it entertaining. Just because you find it boring as an adult, doesn't mean it's not a great film.
