Friend - you have rocked my comic collecting world !!!
However, I could only afford 2 because they're like 53 dollars each, I think. I mean, it was lots of numbers and commas, which I'm not used to, but I really really wanted a couple of them, so now - I got two. Merry Christmas turtlex!
Thanks again! Sincerely!
Wiz - It completely was a wonderful Scooby-Snacks moment !!

Just had to share this little update...
The purchase from amazon.fr triggered a lockdown on my mastercard. Which, in turn, triggered a lockout of my online access to my mastercard. Which, then stopped the order from going through. Then, I ended up on the phone with mastercard for about half an hour, confirming with them that I was who I said I was and had indeed ordered from amazon FRANCE while sitting in my apartment in Pennsylvania. Then had to go back to amazon.fr and re-confirm the charge so they would put it through again. Whew!
Too funny. I can't wait to get my fancy new French DT comics. Only two copies ( yeah, I tend to get like 4 of things, no idea why ) but I'm very excited.
herbertwest, you've been awesome with the linkage and info on amazon.fr, so double thankee's.

so, everything's fine then?
that is honnestly weird what happened to you about those purchases...
I mean : i have been ordering quite a few times book from amazon.com or .co.uk with my french login & my Visa (ok it isnt mastercard), never had trouble and hope it will continue
Now that you started i guess , that you'll have to get the whole saga in french if they also have slipcases with new covers...
I aint sure that this is a good thing for your mastercard that i mentionned it, but you seems happy so thats the main point

Everything is fine... now. Not sure what the shipping time is from France to the US, but I'm sure they'll get here.
I have no clue what triggered the lockdown, but I don't mind, so long as I get my cool new books! I guess they thought someone had stolen my card, which was odd, since my delivery address is the same as my card billing address... oh well, who knows what kind of weird science they use to figure out a card might be stolen. It's beyond me.
Oh, for sure, I'm sunk in now - if there are new covers, new slipcases, new anything - I'm in !!!

This auction brings up a good question:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Stephen-King-Chr...3A1|240%3A1318
This is not the original slipcase given with the signed edition. Do you feel the price is valued less due to this?
Mulleins

Agreed. It is worth less than if it had the original slipcase. I find it interesting that the seller says the book was published with this slipcase. An obvious falsehood.

I thought this was fun:

Wasn't the hotel room 217?
John
It was 237 in the Stanley Kubrick adaption of the film. According to Wiki and a few other sites.

In the Stanley Kubrick film version it is 237 as Pickle stated. Here is why:
Why did Kubrick change room 217 to 237?
The exterior of the hotel was filmed at the Timberline Lodge, near Mount Hood, in Oregon. It had a room 217 but no room 237, so the hotel management asked me to change the room number because they were afraid their guests might not want to stay in room 217 after seeing the film -SK

Next time you are in a hotel with more than twelve floors, see if there is a 13th floor. I've been in more than one that didn't have a 13th floor because customers didn't want to stay there no matter what.
