Anyone seen a Shining worse than this one? Should have been returned, and if I were SP I'm not sure I could have resold it in good conscience.
Me neither. Could the second round sales be returned, or were you stuck with them since you purchased them knowing they were damaged? I wouldn't be happy if I'd bought second round and this showed up. But maybe he was the original purchaser and just kinda screwed up (IMO).
Just placed my order, but as it's been up on the site all day long I'm pretty doubtful ... anybody here beat me to it? I've got a great copy of the proof already, but have been looking for one of the three art packs for quite awhile, they hardly ever come up for sale. Maybe I got lucky, who knows. Thanks for posting the link Ari, I never would have seen it.That's the green Viking EOTD proof, which typically sells for about $150-175 in NF condition. Stephen King Desperation Movie Set piece from the Filming
Here is a piece of a building from Stephen King's Desperation Movie Set. It
was filmed partially in Tucson, AZ, and I was there to watch every moment
of filming the winter of 2005. This piece is from the explosion scene in the town.
SubPress The Shining proof (starts at $599)
Pretty scarce, but since it's a proof of a reprint this edition is only interesting for the ARC/proof completists and therefore priced too high (IMO).
Likely legit, but strange how he squeezed his signature together:
Three bids, $12.37:
Stephen King signed Doctor Sleep The Shining Sequel HC book w/signing ticket
If your name is Loretta, great deal-$25.00:
Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King, Hardcover Signed by Author
Ugly, but likely legit sig, $75 opening with a $150 BIN:
Stephen King Hardcover "11/22/63", Signed By Author
$20:
Stephen King "IT" Pennywise t-shirt
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
I know, John... and you may be right. I just have a hard time figuring why this proof should be in the same price category as some of the 'classics'. I can't imagine anyone choosing this SubPress Shining proof over a 1979 Viking Dead Zone proof, for example. Yet I paid less than $599 for that one (as well as for my Firestarter, Danse Macabre, and Skeleton Crew proofs - all of them pretty hard to find and surely more desirable, I would think).
But I sure hope that someone here grabs it and is happy with it
I'm not sure what's up with this seller. He keeps listing the same book. He has previously sold the same 10th printing book with the exact same signature. Perhaps he is too lazy to change the pictures?
http://www.ebay.com/lgglovesabargain/Complete
He first sold this one...
He then sold two more and listed the most recent all with the exact same signature picture...
I think I'll stay away.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Wow Brian, do have a glass eye and wear an old mac?

They look completely different. I must be missing sumbing
"Life's a Bitch and then You Die"-
Brian Keene Terminal
Same here, those two pics look different. The bottom one starts over the first 2 in 22, and the top one starts above the second 2

Looks like this one from a week or so back, but different ticket number. http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=390860240430
"That which you think, becomes your world" Matheson
and the seller of the current one sold ticket number 45 on June 4th http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stephen-King...-/201099264461
and ticket 46 on May 4th http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stephen-King...-/191154799971
So did he get a trunk full of signed books, or make a trunk full of signed books. All he sells are autographed items.
