Book looks good, jacket looks sorta rough.

Yeah I'm glad I passed on it now! I've got all sorts of names. Laura, Barbara, Winston, Janet, Anna Lisa, and more!
I hope he does a book signing in Ireland one of these days. I'd love to get a personally signed King, always was a dream.
LOL! As in "Does Dallas"?
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Agreed !
FYI The book is Still available from the publisher for $75 + shipping

"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Spoiler alert! Just kidding, great piece of art, Dolso and HR.
Looks like a s/l he is legend went for 240 + free shipping. Is that a good deal? It had the slipcase and what looks to be a chapbook or something with it.
It is hard to tell from a picture. It doesn't look "beat up" necessarily.
There appears to be a little rubbing on the edge. There might be a little lacquer flaking to the left of the "J". There also appears to be a small dimple near the latch. Perhaps that is "beat up." I can't be sure though. I would definitely ask the seller about it.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Do you have dates on those sales?
Those prices are probably closer to the 18 month mark. I haven't seen one that low since Matheson passed away. The "chapbook" that looks like it comes with it is probably the card that has the graphic from the cover of the book. It was included with the S/L. It is just what you see, a single piece of card stock with the graphic on it.
I see Betts has a S/L #125 of "Legends" for auction, starting bid of $2500.
I hope he gets it, because when I bought my S/L #6 from Greg (shibus) I thought I had overpaid at $1000.
Those are staggering prices.
I am not going to try and outguess Dave at Betts, I am just a bit shocked.
The price could very well be a request from a seller and not prices set by Betts.
Just thinking out loud.

I'm the caretaker of Room 217..............I've always been the caretaker of Room 217
Would not be surprised if there are multiple bids over $2.5K. One of the hardest to find books for collectors and also contains The Wheel of Time story and The Song of Fire and Ice story among others.
